Circus can be what you want it to be. It can be graceful, mysterious, silly, sensual, weird, funny, evocative, sad, nerdy, or beautiful—and sometimes a mix of those! CirCompendium can flex to meet your event needs and vision, working with you to book what will make your event the most memorable.

Aerial and fire assessments are conducted during the booking process to ensure there are no technical surprises on the day of the event. If set up/tear down are needed for the acts you want to book, those will be determined as part of the event booking/pricing.

Our equipment is of the highest caliber and is regularly assessed and maintained as needed.

We are fluent in Spanish/Hablamos español, and we also speak some French and Italian, as needed.

CirCompendium brings together in Western North Carolina decades of combined professional performance experience and training across various arts under the tent of circus. We have performed on two other continents, including standouts like the Edinburgh Fringe, and at events from private parties to major festivals in several US states. We can tailor your entertainment to any type of vision, including indoor/outdoor, various age groups, and themes.

CirCompendium aerial offerings include circus rope, trapeze, lyra/hoop, silks, and rope suspension. Aerial performance can be solo or multiple artists and can incorporate creative apparatuses and/or acts—we have over 12 years of experience in this field. We can also assess the safety of a venue for aerial rigging and rig/derig shows—or bring in our own portable aerial rig that adjusts 16–24 feet for maximum flexibility at almost any type of venue!

Our ground arts are another kaleidoscope of possibilities, with over 17 years of experience in hula hoops alone. With six high-definition LED hoops, two of which are programmable to display personalized graphics for your event, and up to five hoops manipulated at once by a single performer, these can be quite a dazzling display! We also offer performance with hoops wrapped in reflective tape that glows under stage light, as well as UV-reactive hoops that pop in daytime and are brilliant at night. Any of these offerings can incorporate balance, juggling, and flexibility. We also manipulate flowy flags that are UV reactive, fans, staves, squares, etc.

CirCompendium fire offerings are just as broad, with nearly 15 years of experience in fire performance and safety standards to light up your night—but not the building. Fire manipulation can also be solo or multiple artists wielding props like hula hoops, fans, staves, squares, and poi. For indoor events, we will assess the safety of the venue for fire and what kind of fire can be performed there, including the best fuel for the situation. All fire performance includes safety support—but we have never had a safety incident requiring a spotter. Fire performance can take on many personalities but is always mesmerizing to all ages!

Our booking process is straightforward and will leave you feeling relaxed on the day of, knowing that your entertainment is in the hands of professionals who truly love enthralling others with their art!

Aerial: For aerial acts, our portable aerial rig must be used, or rigging must be done directly from a structure that can support it, as visually assessed by CirCompendium during the booking process. The lowest ceiling height our portable aerial rig can be set up is 17 feet, with a footprint to match. Aerial may be performed at a lower height if a building structure can be rigged from directly, instead. Consultation with a structural engineer may be required in certain instances to definitively determine if a building structure can safely support aerial performance/be rigged from directly.

A maximum of two performers can be suspended from our aerial rig at one time. Multiple simultaneous performers on different apparatuses will require either a building structure that can be rigged from directly or renting additional aerial rigs, depending on availability.

Fire: For fire acts, indoor venues must be visually assessed for safety by CirCompendium during the booking process. Some indoor venues may not be safe for fire or for certain fire acts, so we will work with you on finding the best solution for your event.

Scope of services: Performance is a separate service from activities like guests trying circus equipment or receiving instruction, which must be booked as additional/separate services. Under no circumstances may guests use performer equipment.
