Overview
Chris Stephens is a multi-instrumentalist musician and music educator specialized in the field of historic stringed instruments of Asia, India, and the Middle East. His instruments are the Sitar, Arabic Oud, Turkish Saz, Persian Tar, Chinese Pipa, and Japanese Shamisen. Chris is also a bluegrass banjo player and plays a vast repetoir of music on the guitar as well. The music Chris plays is suited for a variety of places and events, as evidenced by the diverse venues he has played in his long music career including weddings, festivals, parties, concerts, yoga sessions, holidays, and multi-cultural events.

Chris played oud at our Syrian-American wedding on 9.12.2026. He was amazing! He played during guest arrival, all the ceremony music, and during cocktail hour. Working with him was amazing as well, he learned new songs for us, sent us recordings and suggestions too. We would recommend him to anyone looking to add a beautiful, soulful touch to their event!
