Overview

I'm Chris Meece, a clean comedy magician in Somerset, KY, performing all over the Lake Cumberland area. I do close-up magic right in your hands, plus parlor and stage shows for bigger crowds, all of it genuinely funny and completely clean. No off-color jokes, nothing that'll embarrass you in front of your boss, your church, or your kids. I'm an easy hire: I show up early, bring my own sound, and need almost nothing but a crowd ready to have fun. Birthdays, holiday parties, company events, festivals, libraries, schools, you name it. Message me about your event and I'll help make it one your folks talk about for years.

Vegas-Level Magic With a Heart for Everyone!

Chris has been part of our IweY music festival — a festival specifically for individuals with disabilities — 2 of the 3 years we’ve had it. He’s always been prompt, excited, professional, and gone the extra mile to make a good experience a great one for every person who attended. The top-level knowledge of a wide array of magic is really something you can only get in Vegas — yet here he is, mesmerizing every person he comes across. Highly recommend, as a magician and as a person!

A Magician Your Guests Will Talk About Long After the Event

I’ve had the pleasure of seeing Chris Meece perform at several different events over the years, including weddings, New Year’s celebrations, and private parties, and every single performance has been phenomenal.

Chris has a rare ability to entertain while performing incredible magic. His personality and interaction with the audience are just as impressive as the tricks themselves. Whether he’s doing card tricks, coin tricks, classic illusions, or something completely unexpected, he keeps everyone engaged from start to finish.

What really sets Chris apart is his ability to connect with every age group. Children, teenagers, adults, and seniors all enjoy the show and feel like they are part of the experience.

If you are looking for entertainment that your guests will remember and talk about long after the event is over, Chris Meece is the magician you want. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

Magical Memories from our favorite magician

Chris was the magician for my son’s birthday party and it was the most fun and memorable birthday he’s had. Chris was engaging with all the children and got several of them involved.

What to expect

A clean, family-friendly comedy magic show built around audience participation — volunteers become the stars, and their reactions become the best part of the show. Expect laughter first, astonishment second, and a few moments you'll be talking about on the drive home. I offer three show formats: strolling close-up magic for mingling crowds, an interactive parlor show for smaller gatherings, and a full stage show with music for larger events. Everything is appropriate for all ages and all audiences — no exceptions, no awkward moments for the event planner to worry about.

About

I've been doing magic my whole life — and somewhere along the way I figured out the magic isn't really the point. The people are. I'm a comedy magician based in Somerset, Kentucky, and my shows mix clean humor, music, and moments of genuine wonder that work for everybody in the room, from the four-year-old up front to the grandparents in the back. I've performed for festivals, churches, libraries, birthday parties, and banquets across Kentucky. My goal at every show is the same — send people home laughing, amazed, and reminded that life is a mystery to be enjoyed, not a puzzle to be solved.

Additional booking notes

I'm self-contained for most events — I bring everything I need. For stage and parlor shows, I provide my own sound system for small-to-medium rooms; for larger venues, access to the house sound system (one wireless mic input or line in) is appreciated. I arrive 45–60 minutes before showtime for setup. Happy to work with your event schedule and coordinate details ahead of time.

Set list

Magic doesn't have a set list quite like a band does, but here's what shows typically include: comedy magic with volunteers from the audience, sleight of hand up close, mind-reading moments, the linking rings, music woven through the show, and my signature closer — the Impossible Bottle, a mixed Rubik's Cube sealed inside a glass bottle, tied to a message about chasing wonder. Every show is tailored to the event and audience.

Influences and inspiration

David Copperfield, Taylor Hughes, Joshua Jay — magicians who prove that connection and storytelling matter more than tricks.

Setup requirements

Close-up/strolling: no setup needed — I work right in the crowd Parlor show: a performance area roughly 6' x 8', with the audience seated facing it Stage show: a stage or cleared area roughly 8' x 12', access to a standard outlet, and about 30–45 minutes
