I started my musical adventure at age 7 playing drums in church. When I turned 12 years old, I was accepted to study at the Escuela Libre de Música de Hato Rey, in Puerto Rico. This is when I discovered the saxophone. There I studied under Angel Marrero and Indio Martínez. After finishing high school, I went on to the University of Puerto Rico. In 1998, I became the recipient of a special talent scholarship and left for Berklee College of Music, to work on my Bachelor's degree in Professional Music. While in Boston I was under the tutelage of Dino Govoni and Fred Lipsius, amongst other great professors. Since then, I have worked with many acts, in various musical genres, such as: Glenn Monroig, Victor Manuelle, Gilberto Santa Rosa, El Cano Estremera, Marlo Ruiz, Paquito Guzmán, Paquito Acosta, Michael Stewart, Sammy Marrero, 33 D.C., Mario Ortiz Jr., Tito de Gracia/Naoka Jam, Andy Montañez, 509, Rene González, Damaris Grillo, Plenealo, Eggie Castrillo Big Band, Batuke Samba Funk, PeeWee Ellis, Pedro Eustache, Humberto Ramírez, ‪Marcos Vidal‬ and more. I am fortunate to have gained many experiences through my career as well enjoyed many highlights. Most recently my musical arrangement for Grammy® nominated group ¡Plenéalo! for song “La Novia Nueva” for was nominated for a Latin Grammy®. My major musical influences are ‪Bob Mintzer‬, ‪Yellowjackets‬, ‪Richard Bona‬ among MANY others. I’m currently working on my first album with my own group IQ Project.
