November 8, 2023I wanted to love this gig, they came across wonderfully, until, they started 30 minutes late ( missing an extension cord), than they play great music for 45 minutes... when we did the speeches, It was their 45 minutes window for the band to not play and eat, but they just took a break, and i had a cigar roller and they when and took cigars and drinks. Thereafter they play 15 minutes, and stop, but digitally recorded music and drank and ate, and took more cigars ( a limit amount from my guests. They play another 15 minutes at the end. They told me that they have the right to take breaks.
Out of 3 hours they play 1 hour 15 minutes... the rest was digitalized, recorded music.
I got charge 3 covers for them plus drinks, and cigars. They decided that they were guests of my party. They couldn't even look at me in the face when they left. Not a great experience.

We want to clarify that our quote was for 90 minutes of live music, not 3 hours. This is on our website and contract. We performed as agreed.
We did not start late. The venue did not have a power outlet for us. We used our own cord, which took time. We are sorry for this.
We did not take your hospitality for granted. The staff offered us food, drinks, and cigars. We accepted them as a thank you. This is common in Miami.
We are sorry that you felt ignored. We were focused on our performance. We did not ask for the parking fee twice. We expected you to pay us after the event.
We are grateful for the chance to play for you. We hope you had a good time. We respect your opinion and appreciate your feedback. We hope you will give us another chance.

Pepe Montes was born in Santa Clara, Cuba, and began his professional career as a pianist at the young age of 16. He is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, producer, and band director. Credits include: Marc Anthony, Andrea Bocelli, Laura Pausini, Sergio George, Wisin y Yandel, Aventura, Prince Royce, Chino y Nacho, Willy Chirino, Albita, Celia Cruz AllStars among many others.
In 2012 he participated in the Curaçao North Jazz Festival where he recorded for Sergio George's "Salsa Giants" as keyboardist/pianist, and was later honored with the Latin Grammy in 2013. In 2014, he started his own Cuban ensemble, Pepe Montes Conjunto. As an artist with a deep understanding of his roots and their evolution, he aims to bring genuine Cuban sounds to the modern era.
