Cat Heads: Stop-Motion Workshop
Overview
I'm Zsofi — stop-motion animator, puppet maker, and founder of Kittenframes. I bring a hands-on animation workshop to your party that kids and adults actually talk about afterward.
CAT HEADS is simple: participants build an expressive paper cat face, give it a personality, and watch it come to life through stop-motion animation. No experience needed.
Every guest leaves with a handmade character that's completely their own — and a short animation they made themselves.
It's creative. It's funny. It's genuinely unlike anything else you'll find for a birthday party.

About
Kittenframes is a handmade stop-motion animation project created by animator Zsofi Katona, focused on expressive storytelling, tactile creativity, and bringing characters to life frame by frame.
In addition to creating original stop-motion content featuring handcrafted felted kittens, Zsofi leads interactive animation workshops for libraries, schools, camps, birthday parties, and community events.
The featured workshop, CAT HEADS, invites participants ages 8–14 to create expressive paper cat characters and animate short emotional stories through stop-motion. Along the way, participants explore creativity, collaboration, listening skills, and storytelling through a hands-on process designed to encourage imagination and human connection.
All materials and animation equipment are provided, making the experience easy to host in homes, libraries, classrooms, and community spaces.
Additional booking notes
The workshop is fully self-contained, and all materials and stop-motion equipment are provided by the presenter.
Programs can be adapted to different room sizes, group sizes, and event formats, including libraries, classrooms, camps, and private events.
The animation portion uses shared tabletop stop-motion stations with overhead camera setups and LED lighting.
Access to standard electrical outlets is appreciated. A projection surface or blank wall is helpful for demonstrations but not required.
Setup and breakdown are handled independently by the presenter.

Influences and inspiration
My work is influenced by handmade stop-motion storytelling, practical effects, classic character animation, and artists who emphasize tactile creativity and emotional expression through movement.
I’m especially inspired by studios and creators that celebrate handcrafted animation and human-made storytelling, including independent stop-motion filmmakers, puppet fabrication artists, and educational art programs that encourage imagination through hands-on creation.
