"Dreamgirls Tribute" is The Premiere Multi- Award Winning Tribute Show and Originator of this Category Name. Carlene Mitchell created the show concept and coined the name "Dreamgirls Tribute" back in 2006 prior to the debut of the Hollywood film "Dreamgirls". Awards received for this show include:

ABOUT CARLENE:

For over 25 years, Carlene Mitchell has been captivating audiences of all ages and cultures. She is a multi-faceted entertainer who’s musical endeavors center in Rhythm and Blues, Gospel, and Jazz. She has performed with various Jazz bands and Swing Orchestras in renowned locations such as The Helmsley Palace and The Rainbow Room in New York City, and has also headlined at The Jazz Company at Pleasure Island, and The Westin Grand Bohemian in Orlando. She has performed Blues and Motown acts in venues such as The Motown Caf and The House of Blues, and has opened for several recording artists such as Ray, Goodman, and Brown, Cuba Gooding, Sr. and The Delphonics.

Aside from headlining with her band in numerous venues throughout the country, Carlene is also highly recognized in the Tribute Artist Industry which she performs as Whitney Houston, Aretha Franklin, Diana Ross, and Natalie Cole. She has been seen on numerous television spots, including The Next Best Thing on ABC Television, which she appeared as Whitney Houston. Carlene has also been featured in several books and magazines including Copy Cats 2 by Bea Fogelman, Fame US by Brian Howell, Madison Magazine in Australia, and Vegas Rocks Magazine.

Overall, Carlene Mitchell has proven to be an interactive entertainer who strongly believes in performing with the people, and not for the people. –“Performing is a conversation with the audience;…we all communicate, we all get involved.”
