Carl Stewart
Overview
I'm a full-time independent audio engineer for live events, based in Orlando, Florida, servicing corporate / convention events, concerts, and more, with 30+ years of experience. This includes high-quality sound for webcasts and hybrid events. My personal sound system will accommodate groups of up to about 500. Smaller events are welcome. For large corporate events, I'm very experienced with the Clear-Com Freespeak II wireless com system and Shure Wireless Workbench. I've also authored several articles for Live Sound International magazine.
TRAVEL: Although I'm not available for touring, I will travel for specific events within the United States, with travel expenses and per diem paid.

April 22, 2025He made the impossible happen
This was our first ever event like this in a very large gymnasium. Sound was all over the place with reverb and we did not think we were going to be able to pull this event off but Carl never stopped until he got it all dialed in and when it was all said and done our event could not have gone better. He was also just an overall great guy. Very personable and professional. I would recommend Carl for any of your sound needs.

Mr. Stewart is one of the best professionals that I’ve ever worked with. His knowledge is unmatched, and his ability to explain is even greater. I look forward to having him back.

September 5, 2017Carl was a very good and patient audio engineer!
I think the only issue was that there was limited time and also the scale of our band didn't help
With the sizing of the equipment - maybe a standard template would help for future events and we will definitely engage Carl in the future

What to expect
Presenters can expect crystal-clear audio, so you can be understood and heard clearly by their audience. Audiences can expect faithful sound reproduction and a great listening experience.
Band members can have the confidence of knowing that I'll do everything reasonably possible to make sure that you get what you need in the monitors, and that your sound will be faithfully reproduced in the mains. I'm a degreed musician with professional touring experience, so I mix with the ears of a musician, and I understand the needs of musicians in a way that nonmusicians can't. Audiences will get the best listening experience possible. Band members can leave the audio in my capable hands and concentrate on what you do best.
Audiovisual clients can expect on-time arrival, a professional appearance, attitude, and demeanor, and an experienced, knowledgeable technician.
About
I'm a qualified FOH audio engineer (A-1 or A-2) with decades of experience, working with systems ranging from simple self-powered speakers on stands to line arrays, delays, front & side fills, and sub woofers. Venues from small breakout rooms to large general sessions and auditoriums.
My personal audio equipment will comfortably accommodate groups of up to 800 people - from a simple system with microphones for presenters to a more complex setup for live entertainment. The heart of my system is a Yamaha TF5 32-channel digital mixing board.
As a degreed musician with professional touring experience, I understand the needs of performers, and I speak fluent "musician."
Additional booking notes
We'll work out the details. Please note that in this type of environment, preproduction is critical for a successful event. In order for me to provide excellent service as an audio engineer, it's important for me to know in advance such things as the number of people expected in the audience, what equipment will be provided (if any), the room layout, electrical power sources, etc. An input list is vital. For bands, I also need a diagram showing where each band member is located on the stage.
For large gatherings, I need the plots in order to have an understanding of such things as where FOH will be, where the stage will be, how the trusses will be configured, cable run routes, rigging pick points, etc.
