Caricatures By Steve Nyman

Caricatures by Steve Nyman will arrive at your event and create spot on humorous cartoon portraits of your guests. Each drawing takes approx 5 minutes each. We can create mulptiple people in an image, such as groups at work or families together. We work large 11"x17" paper heavy stock and provide a plastic bag for each drawing. The amazing part is watching Steve create a caricature from scratch. Starting with a blank piece of paper and minutes later and work of art to be framed in your offrice or house.
An experienced top notch artist Steve has been drawing since he was in kindergarten and has achieved the status of one of the top caricature artists in the New York area.
Steve has studied at NSFIA and is a master illustrator and in his work you can see his influences. "I would say, I'm a little bit of the Mad Magazine school of caricature art." In his work you will notice some of the Mad influences of veteran caricaturists Mort Drucker and Jack Davis . Studing abroad in England, and doing a internship at The Economist Magazine. Steve has also attended the NCN conventions and met many of the top caricature artists in the country.
Creating a caricature with my experience is done with ease. Because of the love for what I do and the enjoyment I create a real party atmosphere. The smiles and the laughs are really just part of the drawing experience when Steve entertains at your party.
I have created over a half million caricatures since I started in the caricature entertainment and party business. My drawings are in most countries around the world. Another awsome part is that what I do is a universal language. I've drawn at events where no one speaks english, and when the pen hits the paper everyone gets in on the laughs. I can just imagine the happiness I've created for all the party guests.
I come in with a clipboard, markers and paper and need very little space to do my thing. As I tell all my customers, the great deal about a caricaturist is the entertaiment as well as a giveaway. And the cost is quite reasonable.

One of my favorite events to do is a tradeshow. Tradeshows are made for a caricaturist. We can come in with preprinted paper with your business logo, web address, and phone number. When we draw on that paper we are creating a permanent advertisement for your company. At the tradeshow as a giveaway and entertaiment for your booth. While Steve creates his drawings you can talk to the attendees and gather up some new leads. Steve will amaze the attendees with the speed of his creations. And imagine the drawing I did is framed in their office, with your info right at the bottom.
Anoter great idea for my services is at a wedding. Again the entertaiment value and it's also a favor. I write the bride and grooms name and date at the bottom of each drawing as a rememberence of the event. Also I do wedding sign-in posters 20"x30" in size. Save the date postcards are also a great use of caricatures in a fun way. Caricatures are very popular at weddings now, brides are understanding te value of hiring a caricaturist over a photobooth. The amazing thing budget wise is most the time I can bring in 3 artists drawing for less than the price of a photobooth.
Now is there a difference in artists? Look closely at the samples. I use celebrities so you can see the likeness and how I capture the person. If you cannot recognize the celebrity it's most likely that artist does not have the ability to capture your guests at an event. Also notice the quality of the line. Is the line shakey and unsure, that is the sign of a novice. I would be most upset If I paid a little less for the service and got a novice or art student. Some artists will now show highly rendered samples of celebrities the drew in photoshop. Some of these samples took them 15 hours to draw! This certainly does not represent something they can do at a party in five minutes or less. Another thing to be aware of is the amount of drawings per hour. Now there is no science to this but I can do 10-30 people per hour. The fastest is a black and white profile of the face (side view) head only. Then there are variations such as front view just face, or face and theme, sport or hobby(with the little bodies). And will the rawing be color or black and white? Black and White is always faster. Now I've worked with artists doing black and white drawings with bodies and have done 4 total in an hour. I can do the same at 15 per hour. So there is a difference in researching which artist is best for your budget. Another thing to take in account is exaggeration. Your guests at your party want a fun comical drawing. Most likely they will be offended if the artist draws giant gopher teether and warts. There are artist that will enjoy making the guest as uncomfortable as possible by creating a mean spirited drawing.
Birthdays are also another popular venue for caricatures. I have done 1st birthdays as well as 100 year old birthdays. So you can see a caricaturist is really for any age. I've worked a senior centers where everyone lines up to get a picture. They love it. Can I draw a squirming new born, of course. I sort of have a candid mind and the ability to capture the likeness quickly.
Grand openings such as a new store, bank or office are good caricature entertainment venues. Holiday parties, not just Christmas, but Easter, Halloween, St Paddys Day, July 4th picnics and many others are perfect for drawing at. Company picnics are great, and everyone loves to take home a drawing.
College events and school functions are a great idea for a caricaturist.
