Cara was Amazing! We wanted some (7) Bollywood tunes and she was so kind in learning them all (in short notice!) Ek Pyar Ka Nagma & Jai Ho songs were played beautifully. She arrived early. She was professional & easy to talk to. Working with the office was smooth and easy. I look forward to the next opportunity to work with Cara.

Response from Cara-C Electric Pop Violinist:
It was a pleasure to work with a professional event planner. Things go smoothly when working with a seasoned professional.
We have experience working with some of the biggest national event planners for corporates and high profile celeb events.
This event planner was very much on top of everything at all times. It was impressive to see her in action. Our office saw her professionalism from the beginning. She works hard and accomplishes wonderful results.
We also look forward to working again with her. It was a pleasure working with her.
CARA-C arrived to the event early and delivered more than I expected. She got everyone dancing. Not only was CARA-C's violin playing great, she is reliable and did a job I would expect from a 2+ man crew.

Response from Cara-C Electric Pop Violinist:
Thank you for noticing. It takes one to notice one.
Your event was a success from beginning because you had hired the best vendors/providers. We noticed your caterers and decorators were fantastic. We thank you for including us in your entertainment endeavors.
Most talent buyers don't know the logistics of music production and think anything and everything is possible by one performer/musician. But one has only 2 arms and 2 legs.
CARA can provide vast variety of pop violin repertoire.
Cara obviously put a lot of hours of practice to make our event a success! She even provided backing tracks, arrangements for other instrumentalists and held rehearsals. She went above and beyond the call of duty. I would definitely hire her again for a big function.

Response from Cara-C Electric Pop Violinist:
Thank you for noticing and giving CARA credit.
She did put in more than usual time for the arrangements and rehearsals. She said you were thoughtful and nice, so she felt good about contributing her time and experience for your service.
The audience also made her feel welcome and appreciated. We could tell by the way they went up to her and thanked here for her performance.
CARA had to pick up the slack for the other player who were not up to par, struggling with playing and sight reading. We had to make the best of it, and pulled it off.
What an amazing talent Cara-C was! She could play anything and straddled classical to rock and pop. She was charming and professional.
Highly recommended

Should’ve trusted the reviews. The bride arrived and she wasn’t playing, she was figuring out what to play. She should’ve been prepared with a set for an hour she’s supposed to play and should know exactly what to play as the brides get in! This is not even a wedding, it’s a shower! It was quiet when the bride walked in and I had to ask her to play something and she chose a song that’s not even fitting the occasion AND she played the same song twice in 15 mins. I do not recommend her to anyone.

Response from Cara-C Electric Pop Violinist:
We recommend using wedding planners. In this case, best friend of the bride, chose to complain, rather than be grateful/proud of her accomplishment- she threw a good party.
Provided 1 hr of charted, most requested 'Romantic' songs. Provided extra 15 min. over time as bonus courtesy. Why doesn't one thank performers for OT?
Elle thanked us for providing beautiful live violin. On this platform, talent buyer did a 360 turnaround. We all know how to complain on line- starting with yelp platform.
Wedding shower Bride entrance music - a specific song- a specific time- was not specified on contract. THERE WAS NO 'on location verbal instruction' either, that bride entrance expected at such and such time. WE ARE NOT PSYCHIC. She expected us to be. Talent buyer didn't realize that live music that requires special entrance needs advance notice on their part. If she sent us picture of the bride & song time- her 'envisioned cue' would have happened. WE ARE NOT PSYCHIC.
'Soft music but latest'- the job description- was prepared. Hadn't they change their minds on site- asking for 'romantic love' songs- our set list would have been utilized. Good thing we have a large varied repertoire. Mother of the bride asked for a romantic piece. Provided John Legend's song- a charted/requested romantic song.
Talent buyer is griping about several sec spent on calling up different songs on our equipment. One can play CDs with 3 sec. silence pressed into the tracks. But talent buyer wanted live music.
Civilian talent buyers are watching TV & Film, expecting 'live music' to be the same quality as shot and edited media pieces. If she wanted a flawless seamless live show, which this job wasn't, this job was background music, she should have better communicated to us.
We recommend using a wedding planner-whose job is to work on entertainment details -things go smooth- worth while. We love working with professional planners.
I hired Cara-C 2 weeks prior to my wedding. I previously hired someone else, but they emailed me and let me know they would no longer be able to perform at my wedding. I was scrambling to find someone and Cara-C popped up on Gig Salad. We sent messages back and forth going over what I expected and both agreed upon a time, price, and song selections.
When the date got a little closer, she emailed me regarding versions of the songs I was requesting. I made clear that I wanted Canon In D for my processional, along with La Bamba for our recessional. I didn't know there to be any other versions of those songs, so I wasn't quite sure what she was asking me. Then I realized she was going to play the full song (La Bamba) with lyrics and play over it with her violin. I had to make clear that I didn't want any songs with lyrics, just classical violin playing during my ceremony. She said that was fine and glad we cleared it up.
Fast forward to the day of. She called my MOH because she needed help carrying her equipment. I wasn't at the ceremony quite yet so it took a lot of calling different people to figure out who would help her. I don't know why she requires help, but she does. Later, I arrive at the ceremony, which we hired her to play at for 1 hour, and I heard no music playing. Part of what I requested when I hired her was to play songs as guests arrive. According to our wedding guests, that didn't happen. At least, she wasn't using her violin to play, I believe there may have been a bluetooth that was playing music. My ceremony went fine. She played the song I requested for the wedding party processional beautifully and I loved it. Canon In D was spectacular as I was walking down. But, when we were announced husband and wife, it took her a bit to start playing La Bamba. We were almost done walking back down the aisle before she started playing it.
I think the time frame she was left with when I hired her could have possibly played into the confusion and (lack of) music. When she did play, it was great. But knowing she didn't do all we agreed to pay her to do is a little frustrating.

Response from Cara-C Electric Pop Violinist:
We agree- we helped- bent over backwards- jumping as last minute fill in. Gave $400 discount. And how well our violinist plays. We provided 3 custom requests, and complementary extra 15 min postlude of Mexican songs.
We recommend using wedding planners. Love working with them. They do their job well. Things go smoothly like clockwork. They send their questions/instructions to us. In one case, we have had 50 correspondences. We can bill our normal rates. There is no finger pointing afterwards.
Civilians use this site from lack of budgets. From lack of their knowledge, civilians take pot shots at hired entertainers because the hired didn't meet the talent buyer's envisioned /imagined scenario of their minds. They expect top media quality show for a shoe string budget. They expect a sit down watch show from a background budget. And expect talent to be psychic.
Here, we saw countless performers being blamed. Civilians were- nit picking- being ignorant of real deliverable &cost- expecting more than affordable- not providing necessities at job sites- treating hires as second class- not giving proper hourly breaks- just because civilians now have direct booking access to performers, bypassing event planners, using sites like these.
Example; here, a civilian violin aficionado, envisioned/wanted to hire a violinist to perform 24 Paganini Caprices in their home- a house concert. Does one realize only Heifetz or Perlman could pull this off? The artist fee would be 100K? Bar mitzvah with a semi major starts at 50K.
We see 80% wedding jobs, 20% corporates & misc. We understand -a wedding has to take place, but we don't appreciate the blames with a couple hundred dollar budget.
The young bride, as stated, scrambling& desperate, tried to produce her low budget wedding. Obviously ignorant (didn't know to specify instrumental version) of live music production drills, we worked twice as hard to provide for her.
Based on the videos & the still shots I booked her for my Le Cirque theme event. I explained I wanted a dramatic attention getting outfit as seen in the promo pics. Thatnwould match perfectly with our theme. All the servers would be dressed glittery & funky and the theme was dramatic. I can say only that Cara was an excellent violinist. The small sound system was horrible & the sound distorted. The performance had Zero, personality. I could get a performer for a third of the cost locally but paid extra- again thinking I would get what was seen in the promo package. A dynamic attention getting performance. Bobs shoes & a cardigan was totally off point and no One gave her a second
Look (this was milling around social event). I actually contacted the booking agent the following day- before writing the review- waited a week and heard nothing back.

Response from Cara-C Electric Pop Violinist:
Talent buyer said on 4/18: "even though this is above budget - I am desperate - and she seems to be fabulous - I will book her". Buyers go above their budget and complain to the hired afterwards. Why didn't she use piped -in music? What one sees with our promo package costed us thousands to produce. If she wanted the exact same set up, our rate would have been in thousands. Not hundreds.
We provided CONTINUOUS 3 hrs. of background music WITHOUT taking a customary 15 min break every hour. Violinist played well.
We were booked to provide 3 hrs background music. We were NOT booked to put on a sit & watch performance with a stage, lights, PA & sound. A normal performance would be 20-90 min. Never 3 hrs. If so, our rate would be 3 times higher, as a solo performer. Our rate was for background music & 9 hrs travel
It was a freezing cold night with no heat lamp or hot water offered. Violinist put on a white sweater. We complied to their color scheme and wore glittery white skirt and red top. We were not instructed to wear their costumes. If she wanted a specific stage costume seen on our promos, she could have told us. That would have been easy to comply to. Some event planners provide costume, if it's crucial to them. Some provide PA, if it's crucial. to them.
Non industry folks have a vision/fantasy scenario in their heads, but don't know how much it costs to produce that IN REALITY. But good event planners know. Buyer envisioned "A dynamic attention getting performance". But she hired background music expecting it to be a 3 hr concert?
She arrived late and in a bad mood. Complained about the long drive to our party. Did not dress up for the event. Very casual. Not very friendly to guest. Played several songs more than once. Back track had violin music in it that guest noticed she would just play with sometime other times letting the music play for her. I wished if she did not want to do the event she would not have taken it. I thought I was hiring someone special at that price range. She was 3 times higher than other violinist and simply did not perform at anywhere near that level. In fact spent more time pushing her tip box and CD to guest I was just disappointed. Never again.

Response from Cara-C Electric Pop Violinist:
We provided FULL 2 hrs of background music from the start time WITHOUT taking customary 15 min break per hr, their requested song & use of our DJ at 40 % lower rate.
We didn’t complain about adverse work conditions: No electricity, bathroom, table, chair. ants, spiders & bees swarming,
WE DISAGREE WITH ALL GRIPES FROM BUYER. CAN’T PLEASE EVERYBODY.
There is always 1 person who is never 100% satisfied. Buyer was courteous, gave a generous tip - nice man.
Buyers envision a house concert but want to spend few hundred dollars, expecting background music to do this, then complain about not getting what they imagined. This is a common problem of talent buyers.- not knowing the difference of the cost of a sit & watch performance vs. background.
Behind 1 talent a buyer who tries to haggle & undercut rates, there are 100 musicians who feel the same hurt, insult & discrimination.
.
Cara-C did a great job of playing a variety of music at my wife's birthday celebration. Thank you very much!

Response from Cara-C Electric Pop Violinist:
Thank you. You are very welcome. You were also a gracious host. We felt your graciousness and reciprocated with lovely violin music.
I hired CARA-C because I wanted something different than the same old canned holiday music for my company's end of the year party. Her pop violin style was exactly what I had in mind. It was all very good. She even brought in a dancer.

I never write reviews, but I had to for this one. CARA-C was the perfect choice for my son's party! I was hesitant to book a violinist for a party with so many kids, but she played currently pop tunes that got the kids excited and kept them entertained. She was also prompt and reliable; the perfect artist to book for any stressed parents planning a party.

“CARA-C is an inspirational violinist and a wonderful artist!”

"Me as a listener, I love when I pop in a CD and it sounds like no one else, and I'm transported to a whole new world. CARA-C does that. She has got a marvelous approach and singular style."

“Who would have thought she was such a rock star!!! What an accomplished violinist and entertainer. And that red violin is cool as hell.
Very sensual and very confident image. That is plain ol’ powerful and sexy!”
-Frank Rodriguez
“I've never heard a violin "sing" like this before. When CARA plays violin, she is not really here. She is up in the sky- like she is close to God”
-V.Khoury-Ghata
"I enjoyed track 2 (Love To Love You Baby) just based on the
familiarity of the song but really for the new twist. To add an
electronica, (obviously violin) and disco-beat feel to this song gives
it an entire new life. For younger listeners, they may not even know
it's a cover! Well done."
