Great Evening on the Titanic!

Captain Smith and Margaret "Molly" Brown are a great team! Their performance is well-planned and a moving tribute to the ones lost as well as the survivors of the Titanic. They are very professional, well-organized, punctual, and have excellent communication prior to the event. Would highly recommend them!

A Great show that is well worth seeing!

We booked Captain Smith & Molly Brown for our High School Alumni Weekend '22, that our small town has every year. Our last night (Sunday) we always have a historical drama. We couldn't have been more pleased with them! It's a 1 hr. 20 minute drama that includes singing, acting, visual references to the ship. It's very well done! Do not think twice about booking them, we had 75 plus people in our audience, and we heard nothing but compliments about the show. 5 Stars for sure! You can tell that these folks really care about what they do, and it shows in their performance. You could know nothing about the Titanic prior to the show, and in a little over an hour know a lot about the ship just by the way they act. They make it fun! We actually thought we got a deal for what they charge, for the show they put on. We were very happy with them, and you will be too! J.S. Mendon-Union H.S. Alumni, Mendon, Oh.

Welcome to our historical drama set on the maiden voyage of Titanic on April 14, 1912, shortly before tragedy struck. Captain E.J. Smith and Margaret "Molly" Brown are your hosts for the Captain's dinner party held that fateful evening. Learn more about the Captain and Margaret/"Molly" as well as Titanic's passengers/crew, musicians, fashion, sinking, and events that followed. Near the end of the drama, Titanic will "hit" an iceberg and begin to sink, giving Margaret/"Molly" the opportunity to talk about her lifeboat experience. During the epilogue you will learn how the shipping industry changed along with a few notable things about Margaret "Molly" Brown after Titanic.

While being careful to maintain historical accuracy and being respectful of this tragedy, there are some lighthearted moments throughout the drama making this both educational and entertaining. About

THE BIOS FOR BOTH OF US APPEAR BELOW:

MARK HYRE (Captain E.J. Smith)
Mark has loved theater since he was cast as the cowardly Lion in the “Wizard of Oz” at age 10.  Having earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in theater performance from Penn State University in 1984, Mark followed his passion by performing in community theater and church dramas throughout his life, most recently on diverse stages in southeast Michigan.  Favorite roles include Kris Kringle in “Miracle on 34th Street” and Stanley Banks in “Father of the Bride” (Croswell Opera House), Alan MacNally in “Baby” opposite his wife Margaret (Adrian College) and his dream role of Ebenezer Scrooge in a recurring production of “A Christmas Carol” in downtown Detroit (Detroit Actor’s Theatre Company).

Aside from his theatrical pursuits, Mark is a Payroll Manager for a global manufacturing company based in Ann Arbor.  A U.S. Navy veteran, he served aboard the aircraft carrier USS Enterprise during the 1980s. Like Captain Smith he’ll never forget the power and majesty of the open seas.

Most importantly, Mark is the father of five sons with his wife of 32 years, Margaret - his “one and only” as Captain Smith used to call his beloved wife.
*****
MARGARET HYRE (Margaret "Molly Brown)
Margaret began performing as a teenager singing in church and for weddings & funerals. In her 20s, she received vocal training from a former opera singer.

After raising five sons, Margaret followed her dreams of performing in theatre and since 2010, she has been cast in 16 shows. Favorite roles include Martha in White Christmas (Croswell Opera House), Madame de la Grande Bouche/Wardrobe in Beauty and the Beast (COH), Babcha/Dolly in Kitchen Witches (COH), and Arlene in Baby opposite her husband Mark who played Alan (Adrian College).

In 2012 Margaret followed another dream by forming the singing group Ear Candy Sings.  Ear Candy Sings has appeared on television in Toledo on multiple occasions, in multiple venues around the SE Michigan/Toledo area, and even appeared briefly on America's Got Talent.

Margaret is excited to "set the record straight" about “Molly” by sharing TRUE facts about this remarkable woman during "An Evening on Titanic..." alongside her husband Mark (Captain E.J. Smith).
