When you hire CFR, you can expect: A 7 piece reggae/funk/rap group surrounded by good vibes and fueled by all the good energy in the universe!! You can expect a timely setup, a comprehensive sound check, a dedicated sound person, a very capable PA system PLUS our sub BANGS...You can expect a fully stocked merch table with lighting, along with a dedicated merch pro who can answer any questions/make the fans feel comfy. You can expect a 3 hour event: an opening act to perform for 1 hour, a short stage break of 20mins, then Cape Fear Rising takes the stage for an energetic 1hr 40min headlining, all-original set. You can expect kindness and friendliness from our band members and team. You can also expect our local on-foot promo team = online promotion of the event by the CFR promo team starting 2 weeks before the event. IF THE EVENT IS A PRIVATE EVENT then we can consult you first and decide if promo is appropriate.

CAPE FEAR RISING is a fusion band located in coastal Wilmington, NC. They are heavily experimental and often meld multiple vibes in search of the ultimate blend. Being together almost 2 years, the band has evolved heavily in several directions including rap, roots reggae, soul, ballads, and more. Their first major show was at The Wilson Center at Cape Fear Community College’s Alumni Concert, which led to a string of performances in the area over the next year. They currently have 5 singles released on the streaming market, the latest, “Winter With Wendy”, garnering significant attention after the band was honored to win the Battle Of The Bands at the Sneads Ferry Fairgrounds, and has been spinning on Modern Rock 98.7 FM for several months thanks to Randy Slack!

The band’s current lineup consists of Nate Lorenz, a talented lead vocalist capable of rap, melody and groovy, engaging stage presence, a native of Wilmington; Landon McClellan, a keyboard player and lead vocalist who compliments the style perfectly with southern rap bars, incredible vocal runs and pocket melodies, hailing from Delco NC; Marc Siegel a professor of guitar at CFCC, a capable guitarist forged in the fires of Jazz’s forbidden underbelly with a taste for the exotic, a Wilmington native: Frank Cacciutto, a drummer who evolved in the punk scene and has developed a seasoned style with pockets deeper than Wall Street, hailing from New York; Brandon Henry, AKA BASSMANX, a bass guitarist whose fingers have been blessed with holy fire, pushing rhythms deeper and octaves lower, slapping bass so sick it needs healthcare, he's migrated down from Charlotte NC; Brock Williams, born a drummer but subsequently found an absolute home amongst the percussion, lending a luscious layer of congas, cowbell, shaker and more that completely blends the fusion… and finally, Nick Atkinson, a veteran guitarist with fingers from the deepest dungeons of hell and soulful melodies that can conjure epiphanies, hailing from Wilmington as well.
