Canadian Improv Showcase

When you book the Canadian Improv Showcase you are going to get a comedy showcase that is like is made up on the spot, guided by audience participation. It is like a classic vaudeville performance in that you will see a wide variety of performance styles and you will never see the same show twice.

The group often wears customized hockey jerseys and plays upon what makes Canada a special place to live, but content is completely up to the audience and/or client.

A typical show runs 60 to 90 minutes and can include an intermission if you wish. They customize each event to the needs of the venue or client.

The Canadian Improv Showcase is a professional touring comedy improv troupe that specializes in short-form improvisation. They have been touring for 25 years and been featured in over 800 performances worldwide. Quite the accomplishment for a group that doesn't have a 'home theatre' to perform at week to week. Their success has much to do with their amazing talent, chemistry and team work. A great deal of their bookings come from word-of-mouth referrals.

They have won numerous awards and accolades over the years such as the title 'best of fest' at both the Toronto and London Fringe Festivals, as well as countless improv competition titles. They have been selected to represent Canadian comedy on the international stage on many occasions. They even visited the infamous Kingston Penitentiary on three separate occasions. The performances were so impactful that several inmates remarked on their rehabilitation forms that our efforts renewed their zest for life and made them "want to rejoin society".

The Canadian Improv Showcase boast a wide variety of programmes. From public performances to school workshops, corporate programming to live character performers and everything in between! They have programming for seniors homes and even rehabilitation programming for halfway houses and penitentiaries. Basically, they can perform for any audience at any time. All they need is an attentive audience and they will have your crowd in stitches. They have never had a bad show and with their selection of talent and list of scenes or handles, you will never see the same show twice. Plus they utilize audience participation like no other group. However, it is worth mentioning that they DO NOT pick on their audience. It is just not their style. They are also willing to offer a content GUARANTEE for clients concerned with content (the client sets the bar and they will not cross it). They can literally perform for any audience and pride themselves on being able to layer their showcases so that they can entertain viewers of any age at the same time.

The Canadian Improv Showcase requires very little technical assistance.
Depending on the size of audience and stage, basic sound and lighting are all that are required.
A pre-programmed warm and cool lighting wash is best. But we encourage the tech team to play right along with the performers and enjoy the experience.
