“I have never been anything but a singer...singing before I talked as a baby. Songs always tell the story of where I am in my life. Sometimes happy but many times dark and sad. It’s been a long, difficult journey but God has done a great work in my life. My calling is to point others to the One who redeemed my life from the pit, through the universal language that is music. About
Canaan is the wife to Troy, mother to Christiana, Domenico, Sierra and Marcus. The family recently relocated from Palm Beach Gardens, FL to Mount Juliet, TN, where she serves as the Worship and Creative Arts Pastor at Friendship Community Church. While in Florida, Canaan led worship for over 14 years at local churches. Early in 2013, Canaan began to see how God wanted to use her story and gift of music to reach more people. She began writing a blog to capture the things God was laying on her heart as she stepped out in faith. Canaan says “I am more positive than ever that God wants me to be His mouthpiece. Pain cannot be wasted, so I am going to use everything that has happened in my life to bring hope and healing to people through God, just like He gave to me.”
