As a self-taught solo pianist, I enjoy performing a wide range of styles, including classical, some-jazz, contemporary, gospel, film and video game scores, R&B, and popular favorites. I believe every audience is different, so I tailor each performance to fit the occasion.

My name is Yanik, and I was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. Growing up, I learned to appreciate hard work, perseverance, and the importance of always finding ways to improve myself. Those values continue to shape who I am today.
One of the biggest passions in my life is playing the piano. I have been teaching myself for the past eight years, and what started as simple curiosity has grown into something that brings me both peace and fulfillment. Music has become one of the ways I express myself, and I’ve even had the opportunity to play at Jacksonville International Airport, where I enjoyed sharing that passion with people from all over the world.
I currently serve in the United States Navy, where I’ve had the privilege of serving alongside people from many different backgrounds. My time in the military has taught me the value of discipline, teamwork, and remaining steady through challenges, while also encouraging me to continue growing both personally and professionally.
At my core, I try to be an open and humble person. I enjoy meeting new people, hearing different perspectives, and having genuine conversations. I don’t believe anyone has everything figured out, and I think there’s always something we can learn from one another. Whether through music, my service, or everyday life, I hope to leave people feeling encouraged and treated with kindness and respect.
