Buzz’s journey with music began before he was even born, with his father, a snare drummer and marching band instructor, drumming rhythms on his mother’s stomach. By age eight, Buzz was already tapping on everything with drumsticks, and his passion for rhythm only grew. After scraping together a makeshift drum kit with friends, he eventually bought his first set and started playing in local bands. His high school Christian rock band Reliance performed over 50 concerts throughout Southern California.
As Buzz’s musical interests expanded, he began learning guitar and quickly became a worship leader at his church youth group. This led to opportunities such as producing an album to fund his college education and a position as high school lead worship leader at Forest Home Christian Conference Center.
Later, Buzz became a music teacher while continuing to serve as a worship leader and camp drummer. Today, he remains active in the Southern California music scene and enjoys supporting churches as a guest worship leader -- all driven by his love for God, music, and connecting with others.
I typically connect through your church’s existing PA system for the best integration with your setup. However, if a PA is not available, I can provide my own 180-watt amplifier, which is sufficient for a small to medium-sized church or multipurpose room.
I come fully equipped with my own acoustic guitar, Shure SM58 microphone, stands, and cables, but I’m equally comfortable using your equipment if preferred.
Regarding song lyrics, I’m flexible and can adapt to your workflow. In some settings, I’ve prepared a PowerPoint slideshow of the worship set to provide to the media operator. In others, I’ve coordinated directly with the ProPresenter/media team to ensure everything is accurate and seamless.
My goal is to make setup and collaboration easy so the focus stays on leading worship.
