Powerful Memorized Pieces But Inexperienced With Setting

Spoken Word Artist seemed new to Senior Living and felt uncomfortable in the setting through a large majority of it. They did not understand that the atmosphere is different than other settings and the audiences reactions not being big did not mean they didn't like it. They like to listen and think. Regarding this, several things were said to them that were cringe-inducing. The two memorized pieces were far better and masterfully done especially "Nostalgia". One piece "Selma" written before the event should also be memorized as it was great too. The others near the beginning seemed to be plagued by nerves and unfamiliarity. There needed to be more material for the selected time. However, it worked out because the ending was so beautiful and powerfully done--and the word powerful is an understatement. Has potential to do events outside of a coffee house with more practice at it. Could have a big heart for it if he gets past insecurities.
