Brenda Marie Turner, Soprano

One can expect a prompt professional and excellence in music when hiring Brenda for any event. She has a large repertoire list and is always willing to learn new music. Whether an Ave Maria (by any composer) to a jazz standard in collaboration with other musicians, Brenda will ensure everyone is positively impacted by the music while at the event, and even after!

Brenda received formal classical vocal training at Stetson University in DeLand, Florida and obtained a bachelor's degree in Film from Northwestern University. She has been the soprano soloist for several oratorios, including well known works by Rutter, Mozart and Mendelssohn and lesser-known gems by Fanshawe. Brenda completed multiple seasons in studio artist programs and as a chorus member at Orlando Opera, Palm Beach Opera, and Cincinnati Opera. While doing so, she performed, in part or entirety, the roles of both Bess and Serena from Porgy and Bess, Lucia, from Lucia di Lammermoor, Frasquita, from Carmen, Lakme, from Lakme, and many other audience favorites. She was aslo a part of the workshops and world premier of the now-popular opera, Margaret Garner.

Brenda sings a variety of genres of music, including classical, jazz, musical theater, gospel, and neo-soul, with various organizations in the Chicago and Atlanta metropolitan areas. She has premiered many new works and continues to collaborate with composers around the world. She enjoys celebrating through song at weddings, healing with sound at funerals, and supporting other private events with beautiful music.

As I am a vocalist, I will need to know if I must provide my own pianist/accomplishment. If so, is there a piano at the venue? Does my pianist need to bring a keyboard? If there is a piano at the venue, and you would like non-classical music, is there a microphone available?
