I’m Brandon, a Kansas City photographer who loves capturing real moments without making everything feel staged. I shoot weddings, events, and family gatherings with a documentary-style approach, so your photos actually feel like you - not a stiff, posed version of you. I pay attention to the little details and candid moments that often get overlooked, and I like to think my work makes people smile (sometimes even laugh) when they see their images. Book me if you want photos that tell your story, not just pictures that check a box.

You'll see a photographer focused on capturing the real story of an event - not just the posed moments, but the in-between ones that often matter more. My background in street and documentary photography trained me to notice details and anticipate moments before they happen, which means I deliver photos that feel genuine instead of staged.
If a client hired me, they’d get professional coverage without the stiff, overproduced vibe. I’m reliable, easy to work with, and I keep things laid back so people can be themselves while I work. Whether it’s a wedding, corporate event, or private gathering, I make sure the final images not only document what happened but also reflect the energy and personality of the day.
Brandon Ballweg Photography is what happens when someone spends too much time wandering city streets with a camera and decides to make it a career. I cut my teeth on street and documentary photography, which means I’m used to capturing real moments as they happen. Whether it's weddings, events, portraits, or corporate gigs - I bring the same candid, honest approach that makes people actually look like themselves (in a good way). Think of me as part fly-on-the-wall, part hype-man with a camera, minus the ego. My goal is simple: make photos that don’t just document an event, but make you remember how it felt to be there.

My photography is influenced by street and documentary traditions, especially the work of Alex Webb, Harry Gruyaert, and Constantine Manos. I admire how they use vibrant color, layers, and complex compositions to capture the rhythm of life, and I try to bring that same sensibility into my own work. Their influence pushes me to look beyond the obvious, to notice the small details and interactions that give an image depth. Whether I’m photographing an event or creating personal work, those inspirations guide how I see and how I shoot.
