What to Expect
In an effort to make this process as simple as possible for you I have laid out a guide of sorts. This is to help you to understand what will be happening when hiring Branda Hoops. From start to finish the process goes something like this:
After receiving a lead for a gig, or making initial contact with a client, a series of questions follows. These questions help me to make necessary adaptations to my act to accommodate your show/event. Some are as follow with examples:
1) What type of event is this performance needed for? (Is this a promotional
event? A party of some sort? A celebratory event such as a birthday,
2) How long will the performance itself need to be? (a few minutes/one song? Or is this a
3) How will the performer be featured? (Will I be a featured performer or on a
main stage? Will I be needed for background/ambiance?)
4) How many guests/attendees will be at this performance?
*(If this is a workshop or event in which teaching/extra hoops will be necessary, other information will be required before a quote can be given)
After these and a few other basic questions I can provide an accurate quote for pricing for the event. After a price and performance duration are agreed upon a contract will be adjusted and sent. Any other necessary pieces will then be assessed (themes, music choices, costumes, etc.).
**All pricing will include a $50 non-refundable booking fee (this covers travel, practice, costume, hoop maintenance, and planning). This is required before the performer is considered "booked".
Upon Arrival For Performance:
A meeting with the person(s) organizing the event prior to the actual event is advised but not required. If this is not possible, then a first meeting upon arrival and quick overview of the specifics will be necessary.
A changing room or bathroom will need to be available for changing into performance costume. A safe location (even if this is just a corner out of harms way) is required for my hoops and bags before, and during the performance.
Payment can be accepted in the forms of cash, personal check, or paypal payment(though this form is required BEFORE the actual event). Cash or check payments will be required upon completion of the performance or after the event if this is agreed upon.
Music and audio accompaniment depends heavily on the event itself. Themes, age of audience, available performance space, and duration of the performance are all taken into consideration when choosing music. Everything from EDM (electronic dance music) and Hip Hop, to Country and Folk music can be used. Please contact me with any music preferences.
