Elvis of Boston

Roland Julius is one of the few performers today who has a very close contact with the Elvis fans these days while performing on stage. Roland has his own style of performing that keeps the concert at a high pitch thoughout his performance. This is a rare treat to see!

Roland Julius was born in Boston, Massachusetts, during a snowstorm on New Year's Eve 1955 on St. Botolph Street, the blue-coller section of Boston's South End.
Roland started singing in Our Lady of Lords Church Choir in Jamica Plain.
The first time Roland ever heard of Elvis was when playing combat with his childhood friends. One friend wanted to play the character G.I. Joe; Roland wanted to play James Bond; and another playmate wanted to play the character of Elvis. "Who is Elvis?" they all asked.
After attending his first Elvis concert at the Boston Garden in november 10, 1971, Roland was truly moved and inspired. Roland was in a band at the time called "The Oxblood Diamonds". The band played songs of that era. Roland also was a fill-in drummer for a group called "Minus One". One older do-wop group Roland sang in was called; "The Golden Tear Drops".
Roland did conveyed his amazement about the Elvis concert to his then fellow band members who all agreed that he did sound and sing like Elvis. And so, Roland Julius career as an Elvis impersonator Begain.

In the past 50years, Roland Julius has performed on numerous occasions throughout the eastern states. The Villa Roma in the Catskills of New York, The Marshfield and West Springfield fairgrounds in Massachusetts, the opening act for Angelo Picardi, The Wang Center in Boston, Anthony's in Malden, Bayside in Nahant, Hill Top in Saugus, Lombardo's in Randolph, even the old Kenmore Square Rathskeller (The Rat) also in Boston are just a few of his performances. A rare artist and entertainer, Roland Julius has performed at dances, record hops, benefits, halls, theaters, dinner shows, private parties, weddings, street fairs, block parties, hospitals, nursing homes and restaurants. Roland enjoys volunteering every year at different events in many different avenues.

The lighting show covers an area of the floor 12 feet wide by 12 feet high. The Elvis Sign covers an 8 feet wide by 6 feet high. we also have our own spot light. We have a Touring Trailer that is used for our equipment. There are extra charges for road crew persons for any large shows.
