About

I do not believe anyone knows the time or place it all happened but one day there it was, A band of brothers ready to take on the world. Sure, at first there were different members and even a different name but finally from the far corners of the world, where is seems almost no one travels to, an image emerged and the battle began. The Mission? To put their home town on the map and food on the table for their families all by doing what they love, playing music. The name "Borrowed Sorrow" was described by David "Chuck" Bruner (Guitarist) as "It's like being beat down until there is nothing left, then you look around at who's with you and it's your brothers who have been there the entire time, they are just as beat as you and the only thing they can lend you is their sorrow."

The Family
Most of the members of the band are family and all live within the Idabel, Oklahoma area. Their family ties are not what actually brought this band together though. The love of music and the skill set to produce it runs deep in this group.

The Drummer
Kevin "Colton" Clark, has been perfecting his skills of accurate timing and precision since he was a child. "I've been playing the drums for since 1995. I started at church playing the sticks on the back of church pews." Colton takes influence from drummers like Vinnie Paul, Mike Portnoy, James Owen Sullivan (The Rev), Matthew McDonough and Dirk Verbeuren. -Watch drum solo

The Bass
Lyle"Brad"Schroyer, has been playing music since 2009 when he met Mitch at work," I haven't looked back since, the music influence in my life since growing up has been from blackfoot to Metallica, Queen, Nirvana, and of course borrowed sorrow ,just a wide variety of music, The lyrics that I wright are from some life experiences, but by mostly what I observe through other people, with the pain or happiness they feel", his influences on bass are cliff Burton, Jason newsted, john entwistle.

The Singer
Matt Jones has been writing music and performing in bands since he was 13 years old. He was born into a family that is full of talented musicians. His influences include Aaron Lewis, Sevendust, Tool, Dream Theater and Metallica. "I use my life experiences and the experience of those around me to create lyrics."

The Rhythm
David "Chuck" Bruner has been playing guitar since 2000, the reason he started playing guitar was because he heard the Metallica "black album" and thought it was awesome, Mark Tremonti is very influential player for me. "He has a tone that is awesome and his playing style is all its own." "Faults in my life and random events help me to write lyrically and musically".

The Lead
Mitchell Bruner "My influence comes from all my great uncles, they got together every sunday after church and played acoustic guitar and banjos and played old gospel songs. When I was about 11 I bought my first electric guitar, Chuck stole it, went to college and learned to play Metallica. He came home and showed me! Ive been playing ever since." Mitchell also takes influence from Metallica, Alice in chains, Days of the New, and Mad Season!
