Overview

Boogie Boulevard is a family friendly 10 piece bonanza of total disco madness, recreating the glorious Dance/Pop/R&B hits of the 1970's! Newer hits are sprinkled in to make this an exciting show for all ages. Everything is performed live - no backing tracks! They cover songs from Patti LaBelle, Daft Punk, Diana Ross, Donna Summer, Earth, Wind, and Fire, Amy Winehouse, Tina Turner, Sister Sledge, Chic, and many others. They also offer a subgroup called “Swing Street Jazz Ensemble,” which is a classy 1960’s style instrumental jazz quartet. This is a fantastic way to turn your dinner/cocktail hour into an old school swanky affair before the Boogie Boulevard dance party begins!

What to expect

When you reach out to Boogie Boulevard, we start with a conversation about what you want your event to be like. We also talk about logistics and our set-up needs, and how that will work at your facility. Usually this involves us simply doing a "virtual tour" of your facility, but sometimes, a real-life site preview is suggested.

Then, we draw up a schedule and key points for the MC (yes, we usually make introductions for speeches and keep the audience aware of when dinner is served, dessert, etc.) This all helps keep things running smoothly so you can have a low stress day at your event! If you are having a fundraising auction or other more involved event, we will work with your auctioneer or Emcee to make sure they can integrate easily into our sound system. We will also communicate with them before the event to confirm timeline & logistical details.

On the day of the event, the sound/lighting crew arrives around 4 hours before the celebration to set up. The rest of the band shows up around 2 hours later and then does a sound check about an hour before doors open for your event, unless otherwise specified. Once your event begins, people frequently choose to have our 4 piece sub-group, the Swing Street Jazz Ensemble play some old school early '60's style instrumental jazz tunes for background music while people grab a cocktail and settle in. Once the formalities of your event are over and its time to party, we hit the stage with the 10 piece Boogie Boulevard band, an awesome show that will keep people dancing!

Most of the artists we cover have either passed away or are no longer touring. As a 10 piece band we work hard to bring their fantastic work to life on stage for a new generation of listeners to appreciate. We also strive to minimize time between songs, with many songs having no breaks between them. Please watch our sample videos here on Gig Salad. All of the material you see and hear was recorded at the actual event. All of the audio was recorded directly from the mixer at the event, which why it sounds so clear for a cellphone recording. These videos are a very accurate representation of what we sound like.

About

Boogie Boulevard is a group of seasoned musicians, several of whom have made a living with music at one point in their lives. Since 2019, they have been recreating the original vibe of the hits they perform, which brings so much joy to so many people, considering many of the artists are no longer alive. This all happens while performing every part live on stage - no backing tracks ever! They have experience with corporate functions, weddings, and city celebrations. Some of the cities they have performed for are: Maple Valley (Independence Day Celebration), Renton (Concerts in the Park at Gene Coulon Park & Renton River Days), Issaquah (Concerts on the Green), Burien (Concert in the Park at Lake Burien School Memorial Park), Newcastle (Concerts in the Park at Lake Boren Park and Newcastle days).
