Anthony (Bonkaz) Miles-Hatton aka Amp is a lyricist at heart with an entrepreneurial mindset; he was born on July 21st 1993 and raised primarily on the Eastside of Richmond, Virginia.
Amp was the man of the house as well as the middle child; he had been drawn towards music since the beginning of time. With the help of his clothes closet, a pair of cheap headphones, and a microphone from his families old karaoke machine; Amp began the journey of creating his own music. He attended community college studying business management while working two jobs. Suddenly life came crashing down relentlessly; from loosing his car in a crash, to becoming a college dropout, to eventually being unemployed and homeless. The most crucial turning point of his life occurred on May 19th 2014 at the age of 20; Amp had been fatally stabbed in his heart…but, with grace & mercy sent from the higher powers to him; he survived the tragedy. It was around this time that Bonkaz had subconsciously been born like a Phoenix.
Bonkaz was expecting his first child, had been promoted to General Services & Operations Manager, and purchased a new vehicle. Just when he thought everything was better than it could’ve possibly been; they had a still birth on Oct. 18th 2016. (RIP Kimani) He began slowly getting back into music; on & off throughout the years (writing in 2017; recording in 2018; dream chasing since 2019) with a different approach, embracing his pain to serve his purpose. Bonkaz daughter Ki’Ora Miles-Hatton had been born, July 23rd 2020. Upon gazing into his daughters eyes amidst the coronavirus pandemic, he remembered the vow he made to himself years before, therefore “M.O.J.O. Ent.”™️ (stylized as M•O•J•O•, A backronym for “Music Over Job Opportunities”™️) established itself Sept. 17th 2020.
Bonkaz is the reflection of Amps (Anthonys) trials and tribulations. An overthinking ambivert with many bottled emotions; expressed through his musical therapy.
