About

Boyce "Blues Squirrel" Skelton began playing professionally as a trumpet player at the age of 15, His work on trumpet and harmonica can be found on several albums as both a performer and composer. He then transitioned to Radio Broadcasting and had a successful career spanning five markets and several genres. At the age of 16 he became the youngest pilot in the state of Georgia when he took his first solo flight in an aircraft. This lead him to return to his roots of flight in 2001, becoming a commercial pilot, flying business jets as a contact pilot. In 2015, he was asked to compose and arrange four songs for the group "Easy Walk Gospel Band" and also perform as a musician on the subsequent recording session. This was the catalyst that urged him to begin to reach out to other performers near his home in Upstate SC. He is also active with the "Anderson Senior Follies" (an annual five show run of a variety musical show, now in it's 33rd very successful year, with a cast made up of those 55 and older) and is the current director of "Follies to Go", the outreach program of the "Anderson Senior Follies" that performs year round for Civic groups, Churches, Retirement centers and Veteran's groups. His album "Who I Am" was released in 2020 and propelled him to the number one position in the Reverb Nation regional charts. (Blues) "Blues Squirrel" is a fun mix of classic and original blues along with some "Bluesy" arrangements of popular classic songs from rock and roll, soul and others.
