We have our own equipment (PA - Amps - Mics - Stands) sufficient for small to medium venues. Basic lighting available if needed.

We can also assemble a larger group, if the occasion calls for it, horns, keyboard, you name it.

Detroit Blu is a new collaboration with Chris Leigh and Fred Crandal, performing some Smokin Delta & Chicago Blues with a splash of soul.

Chris Leigh, Guitarist & vocalist:
Chris has performed with John Goins’ & The Motor City Big Four, Joe Saliz, Jeff Maylin, Nikki James & the Flamethrowers, Louisiana Heat, The Shirley Franklin Blues Band, Dave’s Not Here, Lil’ Mac Collins & the Party Makers, The King snakes, Uncle Jessie White and the 29th Street Blues Band, Johnny Yardog Jones, The Battle Alley Blues Band, Zoom, The Blue Collar Blues Band, The Light Fingered Four, The Butler Twins, Mr. Bo, Cathy Davis, & James Cloyd, Jr.
Also worked with Chicago recording artist, including Junior Wells, Koko Taylor, Big Time Sarah, Queen Audry Roy, Larry Burton and Detroit area recording artists: Catfish Hodge, Robert Penn, and Mad Cat Ruth.

Fred Crandal, Harmonica & Vocals:
Fred was born and raised in Battle Creek MI, a simpler place and a simpler time… He picked up the harmonica in ‘73 and it has been his favorite travel companion since. Playing in the style of Paul Butterfield, Fred has performed with many an outfit and graced many recording projects with his magical phrasing. A founding member of the Blue Rythm Diplomats in the ‘80s, to more recently jamming with the Flea Market Hustlers and Free the Honey, His soulful blues harp sound has brought joyful grace to every project and session he joined in. A passion for travel keeps Fred in contact with many a fan, musician and jam session, where he can practice his motto, which is to “Make music for all, and see how far that appeal goes”.
