Overview

We are a southern rock jam band performing a balanced mix of tasteful covers along with originals too. You never know where the music will take you as we pride ourselves on spontaneous musical tangents that can flow-go anywhere. Dance as you will but we find our crowds will listen for the unexpected and we deliver.

Refined Raw Perfection and Creates Those Nights You Remember

If you're here reading this, then you probably have a passion for music. You know what it's like to rarely stumble onto an amazing local band and have "one of those" nights you remember, the kind you always try to replicate. If you don't know that feeling is like, I strongly suggest you find out—it takes a few nights out, and perhaps a few drinks to grease the wheels.

Blue Sky Crying connects with the audience in a simmering kind of way, slowly pulling you in as you relax into their style. They have a unique talent for making you feel comfortable and friendly with them almost instantly.

Once that connection is cemented, pow—they are off to the next level of performance. This is where the magic happens. They bring you along all the way, feeding off the crowd's energy and steering their performance right into that shared relationship.

I've seen Justin and the band on several occasions, and they are truly at the heart of those special times. It's not just that they are supremely talented in their craft, but Justin and the other members are great, easy people to connect with. This makes perfect sense of how they are able to effortlessly pull you into their world for a couple of hours.

If you're looking for one of those nights—fantastic music, fantastic musicians—look no further.

And tell them Tim sent you.

Great Band to Work With

Justin and the band are always wonderful and easy to work with. They put on a great show and our patrons enjoy them. Since we are a farmers market, sometimes we need to make adjustments to volume or sound throughout the day and they are incredibly accommodating. They also played our big Farmers Fall Festival this year and brought the house down.

Booking information

Price range: $1000 and up

Gig length: 60 - 180 minutes

What to expect

Quality, consistency, high energy, good communication, pro level gear, on time, no surprises, no last minute request, three hours of great, lively, energetic, music that you will mainly want to listen too. Some folks dance but way more listen. We will lock in a groove and roll with it, then change it up, tangents, jams, etc.

About

This band is the brain child of Justin Abood. Raised in Cary, NC by my musically talented Father, been singing with him and playing guitar since I was 14 years old. Played music in bars during the college years but gave up with all the smoke and hassle. When the state banned public smoking in 2009 I went right back to work to get out playing again. Formed the first line up of BSC in 2012. Been performing out either with the band or for solo acoustic shows ever since. For the "day job" I run my family construction company.

Additional booking notes

Minimum performance area is 10' Deep x 18' Wide with cover. If the full 4 piece band then 12'x22' is better.
Normal power on a dedicated 20amp circuit. Not a 15amp on a fault circuit.
We will take one 20 minute break in between two sets.
Food and modest drink to be provided by event host.
We will provide all PA and lighting requirements.
If a sound man is needed then add $400
Volume - we do our best to keep our volume below 90db but with a live drum kit and your room/venue that can be difficult sometimes. We will NOT sub out for an electric drum kit as that greatly hinders the show quality overall.

Set list

I Iike to list Bands other than songs we perform.
Originals
SRV
Allman Bro.
Stevie Wonder
Beatles
Freddie King
Tab Benoit
Hendrix
John Mayer
Meters
Bill Withers

Kenny Wayne Shepherd
to name a few .
