Lucas’s musical journey began at just seven years old with classical piano, soon followed by a deep dive into woodwinds and jazz saxophone. By junior high, he was earning soloist awards and leadership honors, including recognition at Music in the Parks Atlanta and the Illinois District Junior Jazz Festival.
In high school, Lucas’s talent earned him a place in top ensembles such as the Honors Jazz Ensemble and Wind Symphony, where he played at prestigious venues including the Jazz Showcase and Evanston Jazz Festival. He consistently ranked in the Illinois District I Jazz Band and Jazz Combo, and capped his high school career performing in the elite Honors All-State Jazz Ensemble under Ron Carter. As a tenor sax soloist for the Youth Jazz Ensemble of DuPage — finalists at Essentially Ellington — Lucas mastered complex Ellington charts that his band took to Lincoln Center in New York City.
But jazz is only the foundation.
Today, Lucas blends nearly a decade of jazz discipline with a bold, genre-crossing sound. He’s a skilled pop, soul, indie, and R&B vocalist; an audio mixing and mastering enthusiast; and a seasoned hip-hop dancer with four years of team experience. As a bandleader and creative force, Lucas doesn’t just perform — he curates unforgettable, high-impact shows that bring people together through rhythm, movement, and emotion.
