James Lupo is the founder of Black Tie Entertainment, a company known for its innovative approach to event entertainment. A gifted musician from a young age, James quickly earned recognition as an award-winning artist. His journey into the world of disc jockeying began through a childhood connection with Jim Devine, the original interactive "Mad DJ" and father of Mike Devine—now a prominent Canadian radio and TV personality.

In 1990, James discovered a niche in children's entertainment and launched his highly successful Dance-a-thon program, performing at schools across the Greater Toronto Area (G.T.A.) and helping raise hundreds of thousands of dollars. By 1995, while attending an industry meeting, he was introduced to the British group Black Lace's hit song "Agadoo". James played a key role in remixing and re-releasing the track in Mississauga, Ontario, giving the iconic pub anthem a fresh life in Canada. The song, along with its signature dance moves, became a staple at parties and is still performed at nearly every event, earning its place as a crowd favorite.

James' engaging, interactive style has taken him across Canada, where clients have consistently praised him for bringing unparalleled energy to their events. His performances combine a small-format concert sound system, music videos (both current and classic), multimedia presentations, social media integration, interactive karaoke, trivia games, and even his high-energy Casino shows. His ability to adapt to the ever-changing entertainment landscape sets him apart from traditional DJs.

Unless the venue requires us to use their equipment, we provide all our own sound systems. Lighting may be supplied by an external vendor or the venue, and we can also arrange for staging upon request. Depending on the scale of your event, additional power may be needed to support all the equipment.
