Overview
I draw Caricatures (the art of turning people into funny cartoons)! I do this live at a variety of events that can range from weddings to business conferences to birthday parties to bar mitzvahs etc. It’s a popular and fun activity that will “draw” a crowd at your event! I also accept commissions for individual caricatures to be drawn off sight that are usually given as gifts. These can range in size, complexity and price!

After out original artist dropped out of our event, we were in a bit a of scramble and turned to Gig Salad. We are very happy we did and that we got to connect with Chris, the only thing I would've changed is the length of time we booked him for. I wish we had brought him in for longer, because he was a huge hit with our guests!
He's been incredibly friendly and professional during the planning and execution of our event. He also provided a template service to help give as many guests and opportunity to get this caricature done as possible. For a small additional fee, Chris created two custom templates for us based on our suggestions so he was ready to go one after another. Chris was here well in advance of the event and was in place ready to go before we opened the doors.
We have no problems recommended Chris and look forward to working with him for future events!

Price range: $125 per hour

What to expect
I can complete one caricature with body and full color in about 10 minutes. Couples with body and full color are 20 minutes (I prefer to keep the max amount of people to one page at 2 because more than that and it becomes difficult to get everyone on the page a decent size). I do offer premade body/background templates in black and white or full color as well at an additional charge. These are a great way to customize the caricatures and can also help reduce time it takes me to complete each caricature. For more info on custom premade templates please inquire. Caricatures are completed on a standard 8.5x11 card stock paper to give you an idea of the size your guest will receive. I do offer protective sleeves for the caricatures as well at an additional charge.
About
I’ve been a caricature artist for over 15 years and a freelance artist for 20+. I’ve had a year of formal art training at Munsen Williams Proctor school. My training for caricatures came from mentorship with the leading caricature artist in my area. My freelance experience includes murals, portraits, graphic art, logo design and more!
Additional booking notes
Generally, all I require are two chairs for your guests to sit in while being drawn (I have my own art easel with chair and small side table that contains everything I need to complete my work). Also access to power is ideal. I can supply this on my own with a portable battery pack but would prefer not to (please let me know in advance if I need to supply my own power).

Influences and inspiration
Phil Singer has been a huge influence on my work not only because of his mentorship but also because our close friendship as well! Other influences are Norman Rockwell and Tom Richmond of Mad magazine. The art of comic booking is also a heavy influence!
