Belly dancing is a Western term for a traditional Middle Eastern dance form, and is one of the oldest in practice today. It can be divided into two general categories: social dances during festive occasions, and theatrical dances performed by trained performers with set choreography.
There are many sub-genres of belly dancing today, with their own aesthetics and quality of movement. Stephanie considers herself a practitioner of the Raqs Sharqi and American Cabaret genres, and loves dancing for all ages.
Stephanie is a professional Belly Dance Artist who has performed and taught in Northern and Central California for over 15 years. She has performed belly dancing in Egypt and Turkey, and enjoys regularly visiting family in Egypt. Stephanie loves connecting with audiences of all ages and backgrounds!
