We are an acoustic duo of singer-songwriters. Our music is generally upbeat with a strong sense of humor. We prefer to play our original music, but can easily fill two hours with covers of some of our favorite singer-songwriters as well. We have a simple set up and can provide our own PA System.

They combine simple melodies with tight vocal harmonies to craft songs that evoke fond, awkward memories of simpler times when grades and friends were of utmost concern. Their music is sonically reminiscent of Pedro the Lion mixed with The Format, with hints of AJJ. Having moved to Tucson in 2021, Bear Down Bear began as a solo project of Jeff's to scratch the lifelong songwriting and recording itch. When live performances started ramping up in 2025, Jessey couldn't help but get back on stage and create that musical magic once again. Bear Down Bear has played across Arizona, from Elgin to Tucson to Flagstaff, and they are excited to continue bringing joy and laughter to audiences across Southern AZ.
Jeff and Jessey have been singing together for 20 years in various projects in Central, IL. With Bob & Marie they shared the stage with Chris Staples, Cool Hand Luke, Into It/Over It, Andy Shauf, and many more. With the band Boulder, CO, they opened for bands like The Forecast, Scout's Honor, The Graduate, and Mysterious Mysteries, and played the historic Cornerstone Music Festival in Bushnell, IL. As of 2025, Bear Down Bear has played stages around southern Arizona, as well as the Flagstaff Folk Festival in June 2025.
