such an awesome group of guys . . . in addition to being super talented, they were so easy to work with, great communication skills, and so flexible when last minute logistical issues came up due to weather related issues. they also took their own time to learn a few songs for me, even one that was given to them last minute, with the request that my nephew be allowed to sing it with them . . . all my crazy requests were replied with a "sure, no problem!" my only regret is that i didn't contract them for the whole night! at least i'll be able to say . . . "i knew them when . . . "
Bazmati Vice is the best--such an amazing show. The musicians were very prompt, helpful, very positive, and fun to be around. The price was affordable, and more than a great value for the money. The audience here at Queen Memorial Library thought they were amazing and unique and the music was terrific! We hope to have Bazmati Vice back again for our next big party!
Response from Bazmati Vice:
Thanks so much Karen! You and the rest of the staff were extremely accommodating and we had a great time performing for you all! We’d love to come back any time!
I decided to book this band for a high school and college backyard graduation party June 2018. I was very stressed because it began to rain as they arrived and set up in the tent. They kept their cool setting up as I served drinks to the crowd. As soon as they began to play everyone started to move to the music and get happy. They played a combination of their own original music and many covers as well. Their original work got people to the dance floor and kept them there with their funky, can't suppress the urge to dance sound. This band also worked with us on special requests that they learned and mastered in addition to the covers they already knew. After the rain, clouds persisted, but I had so many compliments about the band from all the guests including high school crowd, the college grads and the older folks. The band arrived on time and they were very professional. I would highly recommend Basmati Vice for a high energy, and very memorable party. I wish I had some videos to post but I was too busy dancing to take any!
Response from Bazmati Vice:
Thanks so much Michelle! You and your family were extremely kind and generous to us, and we had a great time performing for the graduation party! Congratulations again!
What to Expect
Bazmati Vice has been performing at music venues, bars, and colleges in the Philly area for four years, but we want to bring our music to your event! We have been focusing on working as a party band lately in order to put on the most fun and entertaining show possible. For any event that you may have, we will happily prepare a list of cover songs that you request, so we can tailor your event to your music taste! We are also happy to play our fun and upbeat originals, whichever you prefer! We just want to make people smile and enjoy themselves with our music!
Bazmati Vice is a unique blend of funk, rock, jazz and blues. These genres wind in and out of every song, keeping things fresh and surprising. Drawing inspiration from Led Zeppelin, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Alan Stone, Phish, Tool, and many others, Bazmati Vice’s sound is a testament to both the different musical tastes and the creative energy of every member of the group. All five players contribute their individual instrumental expression in every song to create a truly unique sound.
Clayton Brandt, Chris Gibson, Andrew Szczurek, and John Kerber met at Haverford College in the fall of 2013. It didn’t take long before the four realized that they all played different instruments, and in just a few weeks were regularly practicing and writing songs together. Bazmati Vice was born out of this shared love for music, and ever since that fall, they’ve been focusing on improving their sound and performing live in the Philadelphia music scene.
By the fall of 2015, the group had played a few gigs on and around Haverford’s campus, but it wasn’t until adding guitarist Chris Jackowski that Bazmati Vice achieved its completed form. Over the past two years, the band has expanded off campus and performed shows in Fishtown, Manayunk, Ardmore, and Center City Philadelphia. Bazmati Vice embarked on their first tour last year through Upstate New York, and has two more tours planned in Boston and New York City in the coming months.
Performing live shows and writing inspired songs are the main focuses of Bazmati Vice. Gigging in the Philadelphia area has pushed the band not only to perform at a higher standard but also to produce fresh new music that is as fun to listen to as it is to perform. The band released their self-produced debut LP last April and has more gigs than ever planned for the coming year in the Philadelphia area and the northeast!
