Bayt al-Asad: Middle Eastern Combat Arts
Overview
Bayt al-Asad is a group focusing on the research and education of the culture, arms, armor and fighting styles of the ancient and medieval Middle East.
In essence, we aim to provide the public and academics alike with a deeper understanding of how warriors of the past fought in the Middle East. While we mainly focus on historical education, our members have extensive backgrounds in fight choreography and stunt work. We can therefore offer a variety of services for a broad spectrum of events where arms, armor, combat or Medieval and Fantasy setting may be your focus.

August 9, 2023Absolutely Fantastic!
These guys blasted it out of the park! Frank, Noah, and Liz came to our summer camp for an hour event and had the campers engaged the entire time! These folks are extremely knowledgeable about their material and allowed the campers to interact, answering questions as well as asking them! During the actual bouts, our fighters were well-disciplined in the arts that they were showcasing. After the event, they came around with weapons and armor and allowed the campers to hold and wear bits of the equipment. I cannot thank these guys enough for their time and the opportunity they gave our camp.

September 30, 2019Great act and very knowledgeable
Frank and his partner coordinated a surprise duel for my Game of Thrones themed wedding. It was fantastic! Everyone was surprised and all eyes were on them. Even the groom was shocked. They stayed behind to also mingle with guests and my groom and I were able to take photos with their swords. They are very knowledgeable about combative arts, flexible, and great with communication.

December 17, 2018East Coast Combative Arts did a great job at our event!!!
We had a medieval themed holiday party and hired East Coast Combative Arts to perform with some sword fighting presentations. We learned about methods of disarming your opponent, types of weapons used and had a knighting ceremony at the end. It was fantastic! See photos.

About
Bayt al-Asad, is group focusing on the research and education of the culture, arms, armor and fighting styles of the ancient and medieval Middle East.
Founded in 2022 by Frank Perrin and Isa Martell, Bay al-Asad sought to expand upon the teachings of our formedrinstructor, Dr. Manoucher Khorasani. Dr. Khorasani had spent 20 years translating medieval Persian manuscripts to better understand the fighting techniques of those living in Medieval Persia. After the disbanding of their original group, the founders looked to take what they learned and expand into other parts of the Medieval Middle East. These studies include:
-Armored Combat
-Unarmored Combat
-Archery
Since it's foundations Bayt al-Asad has amassed over 30 students world wide and it's instructors have presented at various historical fighting seminars in the United States and internationally including Combat Con and So-Cal Sword fight. Furthermore Bay al-Asad consults and presents for Arms and Armor Department at the Worcester Art Museum and has been involved on the translation of "The Treasure that Combines all Arts", a 15th century Egyptian Fight Manual.
Additional booking notes
If your show is indoors, and we are performing in a darkened space we will need lights. Although our swords may be dull they can still cause some harm and we need to see where we are stepping.
If outside we need at minimum a 12 foot by 12 foot space with the ability to rope off the area.
