Bayou Blues Band

Paul Shores was born in a small town of Minden, Louisiana on July 1, 1954. He started playing guitar at a early age of 9 Years old. In 1970 moved to Springhill, La. where he played in a local band called the March Hare. They played local high school dances in different towns near his home town. When members of the band got drafted in 1972, Paul joined the Navy and served in Vietnam till 1975. When he was discharged from the Navy Paul then moved to Shreveport where he met up with local musicians and formed a band called Southwind. In 1979 the band broke up so Paul decided to try Houston, Texas where he then played with a lot of different bands. In 1986 Paul started the Bayou Blues Band and played in the Houston area for many years. The Bayou Blues Band played night clubs, festivals and some outdoor concerts in the Houston and surrounding cities. In 2001 he moved back to Shreveport, Louisiana and has have been busy writing songs and recording some new songs. The Bayou Blues Band CD - Driving on the Line is a collection of songs wrote from his roots of music which was inspired by bands such as ZZ Top, Stevie Ray Vaughn and Jimi Hendrix. Members in the year 2000 are James Hicks on Drums and Larry Castleberry on Bass Guitar. In April 2017 the Bayou Blues Band regrouped in Shreveport, Louisiana with new members:
Paul Shores Vocals, Lead Guitar, Rhythm Guitar, Glen Gonyea Drums and James Vaughn on Bass Guitar. Paul Shores is the songwriter of the band and is always writing new songs. All original songs are copy written by Paul Shores and owns all rights to his songs.
