January 8, 2026I have worked with Basic Cable on many occasions for the last several years, both as a house manager/stage manager/emcee at the Kelly Center, and as an emcee at various other venues and private events. Basic Cable always delivers an enthusiastic performance that the crowd loves, and their professionalism makes them a pleasure to work with. They are flexible with their song choices and formats according to what a venue needs, and they are excellent at promoting their gigs to bring people out. Very talented people with a strong work ethic and great energy!

We play a mix of 80s favorites -- anything from the timeless pop of Prince, Michael Jackson, and Madonna; to the hard rock sounds of Van Halen, Whitesnake and Pat Benatar; to the left-of-center New Wave of the Talking Heads, The Cure, and Blondie. The 80s were a fun and diverse time and we want to bring our audiences back to this legendary era and all its different styles and genres.
Basic Cable brings a pro light show, top notch sound, and colorful decorations and props to every gig. We're more than just a cover band -- we are an experience that will make your event one to remember for a long time!

Formed in 2021, Basic Cable has maintained a busy schedule playing at numerous venues in the Philadelphia and surrounding region, including Ardmore Music Hall, 118 North, City Winery, Rose Tree Park, Station 142, Shere E Punjab, The Bridgeport Ribhouse, and many more. Basic Cable was also voted “Best Live Band (Covers)” in Main Line Today’s 2025 Readers’ Poll.
Basic Cable band members Dylan McGuire (lead vocals, guitar), Kristen Conrad (lead vocals, keyboards), Richard Sebolt (bass) and David Weisner (vocals, drums) have played in prominent original and tribute bands on the biggest stages across the tri-state area. All band members have affection for the diverse sounds and looks of the ’80s and are committed to re-creating those sounds on stage.
We require 1-2 power circuits and approximately 16 x 24' of stage space. Cover is strongly recommended for outdoor gigs due to heat and possible rain.
