We are a piano and vocal duo that has been performing together for over 3 years. We showcase our signature blend of jazz and pop at special events around the Bay Area, including weddings, parties, and retirement homes. Our typical set features vocal harmonies over time-honored jazz standards, lush renditions of pop ballads, and even the occasional 4-hands piano piece. We are always adding new repertoire, and have a setlist for every occasion that we're happy to adapt to your specific needs. We can't wait to elevate your next event!

We have a set for any occasion, whether you want us as tasteful background characters of your cocktail hour, or commanding the attention of your guests in a concert hour. Expect to see us set up and soundchecked at least 30 minutes before we are expected to play, bringing in our own gear with a small, minimalist footprint. Our performance can be amplified with our speakers to your and your guests' tastes. If you have a well-maintained acoustic piano, we can also perform fully acoustic as well for a classy, understated experience.
Our names are Rachel and Lawrence, and we are the piano & vocal duo "Ballads & Daydreams"! We perform at bridal showers, special events, and retirement homes around the Bay Area, and occasionally livestream our concerts as well. While we have music for all occasions (including a special holiday set), we love jazz, pop, and classical music, and can comfortably adapt our set to match your specific needs! Our setup is completely self-sufficient, and we are comfortable bringing our own equipment, including digital keyboards, mics, speakers, and a professional sound system.

We bring all our own equipment (instruments, speakers, and cables) and can even operate for several hours without power. If you have an acoustic piano that we can play, please let us know. We can also use your equipment if you prefer.

Many jazz acts are big influences on us. Old-school influences include Ella Fitzgerald, Chet Baker, and Bill Evans. More modern artists include Samara Joy, Kurt Elling, and Laufey. Several of our arrangements are based on or inspired by these artists. On the pop spectrum, we also love Taylor Swift, Sabrina Carpenter, and Chappell Roan.
