Overview

Bad Cat is a professional 9-piece band from the Sacramento Metro area, available to perform in most areas of Northern California. We play classic rock from the 60s to the 80's and an occasional newer piece. Our style is best described as a classic rock band with a touch of delta fusion, with a powerful 4-piece horn section.
We play at fairs, night clubs, special events, wedding parties and virtually any occasion where music and dancing are apropos.
Our band members have played with such luminaries as Pablo Cruise, Huey Lewis, the Shirelles, Donny Osmond, East Coast Connection, San Diego State, several symphony orchestras, Bill Watrous, the Family Stone, Tower of Power and many more.

Booking information

Price range: $1500-5000

Languages: English, Spanish

Gig length: 120 - 240 minutes

What to expect

The band is a diverse group of professional musicians, aged from 20 something to 70 something, with a horn line that just won't quit.
We typically perform 45-minute sets with 15 minute breaks in between.
We have set lists that focus on hard rocking, to dance music, to yacht rock.
Vince Bunio, a veteran of the Bay area music scene, now residing in the Sacramento area, provides primary lead singing with his flexible styles and repertoire.
You can expect a performance containing a few traditional tunes by horn bands like Chicago, but also many rock tunes that weren't originally recorded with a horn section, like the Doobie Brothers, Blue Oyster Cult, Alan Parsons, etc. . where our horn section takes it to the next level adding tasty, value-added licks and background.
Bad Cat is unique in its repertoire and how we perform it.

About

Bad Cat is a professional 9-piece band from the Sacramento Metro area.
We play classic rock with a full horn section that gives us a Delta Fusion feel.
We have performed from Auburn to Stockton to Folsom to Napa to Placerville and all over a 75 mile radius from the Sacramento Metro area.
We focus largely on the music of the 60s, 70s and 80s - by artists including Chicago, Phil Collins, the Blues Brothers, Alan Parsons, The Allman Brothers, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and a plethora of others.
With strong vocals, a powerhouse horn section and up to three guitars, we can do it all! Occasionally we can take a song request and add it for a prime performance.
We have members who have played with such luminaries as Huey Lewis, the Shirelles, Chicago, Donny Osmond, East Coast Connection, San Diego State, several symphony orchestras and many more.

Additional booking notes

We can provide our own PA system, amplifiers, lights, etc, although we generally prefer that the venue provide lighting most suited to your actual space.
Our system can handle outside gigs as well as large or small rooms.
We use up to 24 channels including direct feeds, microphones and clip-on mics for the horns (phantom power).
The band takes up about 250 square feet of stage / space. 25 feet wide by 10 feet deep is typical.
We can be flexible, using floor space or any other alternative space that works.
If unusual, we will come look at the space before the performance.
We should have two dedicated circuits of 20 amps each to guard against power capacity issues.
