AXETOWN Entertainment is proudly rooted in Collinsville, CT—home of the historic Collins Axe Factory. While our brand is newly minted, our energy and experience go way back.

It all started in 1998, when DJ Mario picked up the turntables to support his church's annual New Year’s Eve fundraiser. What began as a heartfelt contribution quickly grew into a passion. From those humble beginnings, he was soon getting approached to DJ weddings, birthdays, and corporate events across New England.

By the early 2000s, DJ Mario had become a fully operational, open-format mobile DJ—rocking everything from weddings and birthdays to corporate events and proms. Whether it was an intimate gathering of 50 or a high-energy celebration with 500+ guests, he brought the same passion, professionalism, and party-starting energy to every set. Alongside private events, he held multiple club and venue residencies across Connecticut and worked with a local promotional group. If you were out in New Haven, Waterbury, Danbury, Old Lyme, or Hartford during that era—chances are, you’ve already danced to one of his sets.

In 2011, he took a step back from the nightlife scene to focus on family—but never stopped spinning altogether, continuing to DJ events through word-of-mouth referrals.

Then in 2018, fate introduced him to DJ Matty Nyce—a musical encyclopedia with a sharp ear for song selection and crowd energy. Their shared vision and chemistry sparked something big, and together, they launched AXETOWN Entertainment.

Now, with 4,000+ events and over 27 years of experience, AXETOWN Entertainment is bringing high-energy, crowd-focused entertainment to weddings, parties, and corporate events across the region—reviving the vibe, one epic set at a time.
