Our talented group of musicians have decades of stage experience and strive to authentically perform all the 70's-80's R&B greatest hits. You will find this music appropriate for dancing or listening.

About

Ask Rufus offers two R&B tribute shows. First, experience the best R&B/Funk music from the masters of the genre! Rufus, featuring Chaka Khan (1972-83), produced 5 Gold Albums, 2 Platinum Albums, 5 number one singles on the R&B charts, and earned 2 Grammy Awards for the hits "Tell Me Something Good" and "Ain't Nobody". We also have a second tribute show featuring a wider variety of 70's-80's R&B hits by Sade, Kool and the Gang, Average White Band, Sly and the Family Stone, Lydia Pence and Cold Blood, and Chaka Khan/Rufus.

Phoenix based, Ask Rufus is here to bring these great songs and memories back to life with our talented 8 member band (with horn section), featuring vocalist Brooke Davis. Brooke captivates audiences as a powerhouse vocalist whose extraordinary range spans jazz, blues, opera, R&B, and musical theatre on small intimate stages or large concert halls and festivals. She has delivered memorable performances in over three dozen theatrical productions, performed with the Nashville Opera on numerous occasions, and appeared as a featured soloist on concert stages locally and nationally. Our tribute shows are 90-120 minutes. We can add a third hour of music by combining tribute shows. (extra charge for third hour) This is a great band for corporate events, concerts, festivals, and parties!

Additional booking notes

We require a stage area that is a minimum of 20ft wide by 10ft deep. We must have several electrical outlets near the stage and lighting must be sufficient to maintain safety. If the event is outdoors, there must be arrangements made to provide a cover over the stage in case of bad weather.
