"Asia by Accident" my Illustrations of Discovery and Dread

The audience and expect entertaining stories about involuntary travel to unfamiliar counties.

Through my sketches I show surprises not found in the guide books, as ordinary daily scenes become more captivating than famous landmarks. I use humor and comic book action to express the fear, frustration and fun of ' "off the beaten path" travel.

I am a semi-retired industrial designer with 37 years of business travel for the General Electric Company to nine countries in Asia. I learned product design through drawing and rendering, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design from the Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles, California.

Over my career, I have designed snowmobiles, gasoline pumps, tools, radios, exhibit installations, and telephones at four companies. I also taught industrial design at Ohio State University and Syracuse University.

Currently, I serve as the volunteer Chairman of Exhibit Design for the Empire State Aerosciences Museum in Glenville, New York. I carry a pencil and pad with me at all times, sketching my ideas and life experiences.
