Whether I’m working traditionally (pen and paper) or digitally (on tablet with a screen display), the process is quick, smooth, and always fun to watch. Each caricature takes approximately 3-5 minutes and is customized to highlight the unique personality of each guest.

From an early age, I possessed an instinctive talent for cartooning—an ability that revealed itself in the casual sketches I would create of classmates during brief moments between lessons. Though it began as a lighthearted pastime, the idea of transforming this skill into a professional pursuit didn’t fully take shape until my second year at Durham College, where I was studying Digital Animation and Production in 2016.

It was during that formative period that I came to recognize not only the joy my caricatures brought to others but also the uncommon aptitude I had for capturing personality and expression with clarity, wit, and style. Encouraged by this realization and driven by curiosity, I conducted some initial research and soon founded Art Smart Caricature Design in the summer of 2016.

Since then, I have served clients at a wide range of private events throughout Toronto and the surrounding areas—constantly refining my technique, developing an intuitive understanding of live event dynamics, and elevating my craft with every drawing I produce.

Technical Requirements

To ensure a smooth and professional setup, here are the basic requirements for Art Smart Caricature Design services:

For Traditional Caricatures (Pen & Paper):
• One armless chair for the artist and one chair for the guest (or two if drawing couples)
• A small table or flat surface (if available, but not mandatory)
• A well-lit area (natural or artificial light is sufficient)
• Indoor or shaded outdoor space preferred (to protect materials from wind or weather)

For Digital Caricatures:
• Access to a power outlet (for charging tablet or laptop)
• A small table and chair setup (provided by client or venue)
• A shaded or indoor space to ensure screen visibility
• Access to Wifi to connect printer to iPad

General Notes:
• Setup and takedown time typically requires 10–15 minutes
• I arrive early to ensure everything is ready before guest interaction begins
• I bring all necessary drawing supplies and materials unless otherwise arranged
