Usually, I have a station set up where people can come to me if they’d like a caricature. I have an easel and a sign I display that has something on it to draw a perspective customer to me.
Customers rarely know immediately what they want to be doing in the picture. Sometimes I give them prompts, like asking if they have a favorite genre or show, or I’ll ask if they have pets, or what they do for a living. I usually just need that one little idea and… bang! I can make something that surprises and makes everybody laugh and smile.
After the image is revealed, I provide a plastic sleeve to put the drawing in to provide it a little protection.
The whole thing usually takes no more than 10 or 20 minutes, depending on how many people there are. No one has to strike a pose or hold their body uncomfortably. People are encouraged to talk to each other and to talk to me. Its chill.

Heath Pecorino developed a love of drawing early in life from cartoons and comic books. He briefly owned a comic book shop in Staunton, Virginia, and while there, started to develop his caricaturing skills. As a caricaturist, he’s been invited to work at weddings, festivals, and professional events.

All I need to operate is a space with enough light for me to set up my station, and probably a chair to sit in.

I travel light.
