I had Ariel make a caricature of a photo of my girlfriend and I. It’s fantastic. Ariel listens and communicates well and makes sure you get what you are looking for. Most importantly, the final image was fantastic.

Ariel came out to our office's Christmas luncheon and the employees loved it! Originals went to the employees, but copies will go in frames down a long hallway. Love the caricatures of all the employees. Ariel was very entertaining! Will definitely call again.

Caricatures were good. However, artist was not friendly and at times rude. We hired 3 artists and initially Ariel was my first choice. Unfortunately after the event, I will never use him again or recommend him. He was rude when I first walked up to him and introduced myself. He took his time getting ready and didn't let us know that he was ready to start seeing people. We gave him the tip before his check. Then when the event was over and he was done he said to me, "Where's my check?" in a very rude manner. So sad that someone with talent ruined it by being so rude.

Hmm... wow, first truly negative review in almost 30 years. Client waited almost 2 months after event to finally post this. No idea why, but strange. If client thinks I was rude towards her, I apologize, but not sure where this is coming from. I was in a hurry to leave at end of booking because I needed to get to my next event. So, maybe she misinterpreted that as rude? As for me taking my time to get ready? Strange criticism. Why does it matter if I took my time or hurried? I arrived early and had a set time to start. I got ready fast enough to begin at my designated start time. Obviously this review is not indicative of what others have thought about my demeanor at their events, and I would hope prospective clients will read all my reviews here before making a decision.

We hired Ariel to draw caricatures at our company holiday party. He drew for 5 hours and was able to get a lot of people drawn. Everyone liked their drawings. Ariel was professional and friendly. Would hire him again!

Ariel did an amazing job at our daughter's party. He is so talented. He drew eleven caricatures in less than an hour. Each of them were very detailed and true depictions of the girls. We framed the pictures and gave them to each girl as a unique party favor. It was a big hit!

Ariel has been making his living as a freelance artist and caricaturist in Southeast Michigan since 1990. He attended the Center for Creative Studies in Detroit, where he majored in Graphic Communication and first started to develop his caricaturing and cartooning style. Clocking in at about 3-5 minutes per face, he averages about 1,500 - 2,000 caricatures per year. Besides his long list of clients, which includes Chrysler, GM, McDonald's, Pepsi, Fieger Law, Greater Media Detroit (WRIF, WCSX), Progressive Insurance, U of M, Bridgestone-Firestone and WDIV-TV, he has also illustrated a couple of children's books, "The Adventures of Lovable Huggy Brown" and "Grandpa Larry's Book of Jokes".
Whether it's a child's Birthday party of 20 or a corporate event of 200, Ariel is sure to delight and amuse your guests with his caricatures drawn live on the spot. Working quickly in marker, Ariel can produce a black & white "head & shoulders" caricature of each guest in 5 minutes or less. (Approximately 12-15 caricatures per hour.) A caricature makes a wonderful memento of your event that your guests will treasure for years to come. For a small charge, special pre-printed paper can be customized for your event with your company logo, the date or any other info you'd like to include. When completed, each drawing is placed in a clear plastic sleeve at no extra charge. Prices for live caricaturing vary by type of event, driving distance and amount of hours booked, but are usually between $100-$125 per hour. A two hour minimum is required for any event.

Renowned New York/Broadway caricaturist, Al Hirschfeld, and MAD Magazine's Mort Drucker are by far my biggest influences.
1. 2-3 chairs. Armless, folding chairs work best.
2. Well-lit area or if not well-lit, easy access to an electrical outlet so I can plug in my light.
3. If outdoors, shade/shelter from direct sunlight and the elements, i.e.: wind and rain.
