Argèn Joshua Lawson, known to his fans as "ĀR RÄ" (AR being his childhood name, and RA as in the Sun God and AR backwards), was born January 2nd, 1991, on the south side of Richmond, VA. He was the middle child of 3 boys. He started writing songs at a very young age, it was clear that he had a knack for art. From winning a national art contest at the age of 7, to obtaining his barber's license at age 15, everyone could clearly see his talents unfold as he got older. He began recording, mixing, and mastering his own music in 2015. As a Generation Y "millennial", Argèn learned early on that the only person he could depend on was himself. He quickly turned to the streets, placing his artistic abilities on hold. At the age 16, he quit high school and started doing whatever he needed to do to make money. He started off selling marijuana, like most young hustlers, and graduated to crack/cocaine. In 2014, ĀR RÄ was indicted on felony drugs and weapons charges. He released his first single "Flexxfuel" in 2015 with hopes of getting out of the game and taking his music career seriously. The song failed horribly. The money that was budgeted to promote the single was ultimately used to fight his felony cases. Today, ĀR RÄ is a free, focused, family man that enjoys perfecting his musical craft and making music for his fans to enjoy. His musical influences include 2 Pac, Future, Jay Z, Kanye West, Justin Bieber, Big Sean, Queen, 2 Chainz, Soulja Boy, and the Migos to name a few. His new single "Girls", is now available on all major platforms!

I require sound to be set by the venue prior to performing. I will need at least two cordless microphones. If I have to provide my own materials, (i.e. speakers, stands, mics, etc.) please notify me as far in advance as possible. There will also be an up charge for the event.
