Overview
The Appalachian Mermaid Society (AMS) is a group of Aquatic Performers and their “Wranglers” working within the Appalachian Region. With a variety of performance experience from beginner to advanced our performers make it their goal to bring magic to any and all events that we attend.
Our mission is to support the Appalachian Community through performances, awareness, and fundraising. Appalachia is our home and we want to work to bring magic to a community that is often overlooked by the masses. Thru our performances we want to bring joy, share the magic, and work with local organizations to support this community.

August 10, 2026A Magical Mermaid Experience at Historic Cold Spring Village
The Mermaid Show at Historic Cold Spring Village this weekend was absolutely wonderful! The mermaids were beautiful, entertaining, and so engaging with the children. Seeing the excitement on the kids’ faces made the experience even more special.
It was such a fun and unique addition to a day at the Village. The performers did a fantastic job bringing a little bit of magic and imagination to our historic setting. Families were smiling, children were fascinated, and it created memories they’ll be talking about long after their visit.
Thank you to the amazing mermaids for helping make this weekend at Historic Cold Spring Village so special. We loved having you and hope to see you swim back again!
Definitely a must-see for families!

I cannot say enough good things about this group. Communication prior to the event was easy. Watching the entire process unfold from unloading the 1500 gallon tank off of a trailer to mermaids swimming in full makeup, costume and staying in character all night! They were the perfect focal point to my “Let’s Get Nauti” adults only charity event. They interacted will guests alI night long and posed for so many pictures. Book them today….they will not disappoint!

The Mermaid Birthday party for our daughter was amazing!! Our Mermaid swam in the water with all of the kids and answered as many questions as they had. The booking process was very simple and I would highly recommend.

We hired the Mermaid Society for our Downtown Lock Haven Main Street festival and event. They provided a portable koi pond and our local fire department filled it for us the morning of the event. The Mermaid was enaging and children absolutely loved the fantasy experience. We plan to utilize them again in the future. It also created a lot of chatter and buzz prior to the event because having a "live mermaid" is quite unique. It was very entertaining and parents seemed to like getting the photo of their children with the mermaid. It was well worth the cost. It clearly attracted attendance at our festival. What to expect
Mermaid able to perform both on land and in water. Will interact with kids, read books, play games, and attend cooperate events.
We also are happy to offer our tank services. Nautilus is a 9ftx4ftx10ft tank that holds 1500 gallons of water. It has very specific set up requirements so inquiries are welcome!
About
The lead for the Appalachian Mermaid Society, Cyprus is a mermaid excited to meet many different humans. When they’re not swimming around in the deep sea, Cyprus is a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Departments. Working with a variety of different populations of a variety of different acuities. Cyprus is looking forward to testing their fins in these new mermaid waters and meeting new mermaid lovers and pirates a like.
All mermaids within the Appalachian Mermaid Society are PADI certified and insured. In total there are 12 mermaid performers located throughout the United States allowing us the opportunity to travel. Please check out our website for a full list of performers and their certifications.
Cyprus is PADI Mermaid Certified, ACLS, BLS, PALS, ENCP, TNCC, NIHSS, and CPI certified. They are insured thru Specialty Performer Insurance and DAN.

To utilize the tank we need electricity, flat ground, and access to 1.5k gallons of water.
