Overview

As a college student currently studying music, I seek to provide affordable and flexible gig services for anyone looking to hire a competent musician for their event. I specialize in cello and trombone, and also play guitar. I am most familiar with classical, jazz, and pop music. I am an experienced improviser and love playing by ear, so I can work with whatever you give me, from sheet music to simply vibe ideas. I'm excited to work with you!

What to expect

I'll always show up prepared, with the music practiced, and always bring my own music on an iPad. I am flexible and will happily adjust what I'm playing and try new things. I am willing to be the main focus of a performance, but am also just as comfortable playing a supportive role.

About

I am a cellist and trombonist studying at Wheaton College. I took lessons from a young age, and am currently studying cello with professor Leonardo Altino. I am a cellist in Wheaton's symphony orchestra and perform regularly in chamber groups. I also play trombone in the pep band, having previously played in the symphonic band. I have extensive experience performing classical, jazz and worship music, and am happy to help serve in any of those capacities. I am often involved with music at various churches, including Christ Presbyterian Church Wheaton, College Church Wheaton, and First Presbyterian Church Glen Ellyn.

Additional booking notes

I have no technical requirements, but for optimal audibility in large venues or when playing with an amplified band, having a microphone would be great. I've used all sorts of microphones, so I am not particular at all on that front.

Set list

Since I regularly perform in so many genres, I don't have one set set list. When I play classical music for events, I often play Bach's cello suites, or obviously if I am playing in a group, whatever I have been given. Jazz, pop, and worship songs I often pick up by ear either during rehearsal or at an event. This is one of my strongest skills.
