ANIMUS’ original music freely barrows and incorporates musical ideas and traditions from East to West, North to South, Ancient to Modern... it's one beautiful sounding world! The nature of our performance is interactive, exciting and inviting, open for all to participate or just sit back and enjoy the musical journey. The music may remind you of home or of far off places you'd love to visit. ANIMUS promotes tolerance, diversity, unity and peace through music and dance. ANIMUS is available to perform at a variety of events, functions, venues and learning institutions.

ANIMUS, a dynamic Eastern Mediterranean world fusion instrumental music ensemble based in Philadelphia, blends Greek, Turkish, Middle Eastern, and contemporary global musical traditions. Led by multi-instrumentalist Bill Koutsouros, the group creates immersive live experiences with soaring melodies, intricate rhythms, and a vibrant mix of traditional and modern instrumentation.
From intimate restaurants and festivals to concert stages and private events, ANIMUS brings audiences together through passionate interactive performances celebrating the spirit, romance, and energy of the Eastern Mediterranean.
