January 26, 2026Great band!
Andy, Burr and friends did such a great job for our party. We had a very large outdoor party with a bunch of family from South Louisiana. It’s hard to impress a group from that neck of the woods and they were perfect! Highly recommend , wonderfully professional, wonderful people great music.

March 6, 2025Good Irish Fun
Andy Burr and Friends entertained at our park for our March Irish Show. Mary played the mandolin, Greg played the accordion and violin and Andy played the guitar and harmonica. They played some traditional Irish songs as well as some newer Irish songs like Whiskey In The Jar. Andy told many good clean Irish jokes. The next day walking by our horseshoe pits I heard 1 resident telling another one of the Irish jokes Andy told. The show would have been even better if Mary and Greg joined in more on the vocals and harmonies.

What to expect
We offer various lineups of musicians to suit your needs and budget. Solo, duo, or trio groups usually are accompanied by bass and drum 'tracks,' which allows the musicians to present a full (and danceable) sound while keeping volume -- and budget -- under control. We usually wear special attire to fit the theme. Andy solo can play a wide variety of pop, country, tropical, Irish standards, and holiday music and jazzy standards. Add Sara on mandolin, and we can do all the above plus bluegrass and old-timey music. Fiddle also works very well with this combo. Our squeezebox player, Greg, is one of the best Cajun and zydeco musicians in the Southeast US, giving us an authentic Louisiana sound. He also doubles on fiddle, adding even more variety. The accordion is also what puts the poke in our polka music! For a full band, add bass and drums. No matter the lineup, the musicians are professional, personable, and easy to get along with. We dress to fit the theme. We welcome requests and like to joke around and have fun with audience members. We love children, and and are willing to hold 'open mic' for kids (or grownups!)
About
I'm Andy, and I play guitar and harmonica and sing; Sara plays mandolin and helps with the singing. We perform as a duo and in different bands, any of which can be duo, trio, or quartet. My band 'The Porchdogs' has been playing authentic Louisiana Cajun and zydeco and New Orleans pop standards since 1992. 'Mountain Brew' specializes in folk, bluegrass, classic country, and/or Irish music. 'The Retro Ramblers' specializes in 1950s-'80s popular music and/or Christmas music. 'Pickin & Grinnin' is a family act inspired by the old TV show 'Hee-Haw.' It's two farmers who are outstanding in their field, mixing silly comedy with barn-dance music.
Among the many places we've performed: repeat performances or long-term engagements at Walt Disney World and Universal Studios Orlando; daily at the Florida State Fair (Tampa) 9 of the past 25 years; South Florida Fair (3 years); multiple days annually (15+ years) at the Iron Horse Saloon in Daytona during Bike Week and Biketoberfest. We've had repeat multi-day performances at Cypress Gardens, Silver Springs, The Villages, and at many, many community events and festivals, weddings, picnics, house parties, and assisted living facilities.
Costume can be important in helping set the theme for events. We wear special outfits (when desired) for Mardi Gras, Swamp theme, Country/Western, Farmer, Hillbilly, Bluegrass, Pirate, Irish, Ren Faire, 1950s, 1960s-'70s, and Christmas.
As performers, we love doing what we do. We're easy to work with, we like to help everyone have a good time, and we don't take ourselves very seriously. We're fully equipped with professional sound and lights and we're very volume-conscious -- we believe your guests shouldn't have to SHOUT in order to speak with each other. Please ask me for details!
Here are just some of our many positive reviews:
Absolutely professional and punctual and an excellent performance. We will look to book them again as well as recommend them to others! -- Crush E., Melbourne, FL
Andy and his wife were perfect for our surprise 50th birthday party! Our theme was "Blue Ridge Country," so their music was the perfect accompaniment for the evening. The guest of honor even clogged for all in attendance to the music they played. Great fun! They even learned a new song that was requested for the evening! I would definitely consider them for any party I would be hosting for the future. Thank you both for making the night special! -- David, Hollywood, FL
Great couple...perfect music for our party! -chris m, Lakeland, FL
Exactly as promised. On time, played well and adapted to the conditions of our event. Very responsive and pleasant despite very last minute booking! Our guests loved the surprise -Denise G, Winter Park, FL
Andy was just wonderful for my moms 60th party.... i am so happy that i booked him! -Rebecca F, Mount Dora, FL
Andy Burr and Friends did a great job for us at the 90th birthday party for my stepdad! We were very pleased with their performance. I would highly recommend them. Andy was very easy to work with and the group was very talented! -Tom S, Douglasville, GA
Andy and friend were awesome. We had several special requests (for he's the jolly good fellow), and 5 or 6 songs to be sung by one of our guests with Andy and friend accompanying. They were gracious, accommodating and a hit with all. Several of our guests went so far as to ask for Andy's contact information. I think that says it all.... -Jack S, Lake Park, GA
Additional booking notes
We have several PA systems available. For most occasions a small but professional system is all that's required. I don't know about you, but I prefer not to have my ears blasted with loud music -- I like to be able to speak to people without having to shout. That's what we aim for in performance. I'd much rather be asked to 'turn it up' than to 'turn it down!' We have a very simple light system; all that's needed for small to medium gatherings. It generally takes us under an hour and a 4'x8' space to set up and be ready to play. Power requirements? Just a normal household electrical receptacle.

Set list
Too many songs to list -- close to 400 songs to choose from. Tell me what you like and I'll put together a list of related songs.
Influences and inspiration
We've been doing this for over 30 years, but our influences come mostly from before then. Classic country and all sorts of traditional rural music; pop, rock, blues, and reggae from the 1950s, 60s and '70s; jazzy standards and Christmas music from the '40s and '50s. We can play quite a bit of music from the '80s, '90s, and 00's, but it's not really our specialty. Some artists we especially like: Bob Dylan, The Band, Creedence, Van Morrison, Eric Clapton, Willie Nelson, Fats Domino, JJ Cale, Neil Young, Jimmy Buffet, Bob Marley, Tom Petty, Fleetwood Mac, Grateful Dead, numerous Cajun and zydeco artists, and... the beat goes on.
Setup requirements
It all depends on the size of the audience and the number of musicians you want. All we need is a normal household-type electrical outlet.
