Henna tattoos are a fun and fantastic activity for your party or corporate function. Perfect for birthdays, after prom or graduation, ladies nights, or any other cause to celebrate.. Maria will provide a menu board of henna designs that are simple and beautiful that clients can choose to have applied. She is very fast and efficient at handling large amounts of clients and can accommodate up to 20 designs an hour. Hourly rates for events are $179 per hour with a two hour minimum. If the event goes beyond the specified time above there will be an additional fee incurred that will be prorated every 15 minutes at the rate of $179.00 per hour. Travel fees may or may not apply depending upon location of the event, and are based on travel beyond 30 min of the artist's home at the rate of $89.00 per hour. If the event is at a location that is distant from the artist's home location, then additional charges for lodging may apply, at the artist's discretion. Events that are being held beyond 11:00 PM will be charged at the rate of $269.00 per hour. Booking fees through Gig Salad are non negotiable.

Maria Mercuri has a diverse educational and artistic background. She has a B.S. in Wildlife Biology and has extensive knowledge of herbs in regards to their medicinal, cosmetic, and aromatheraputic uses. With a keen interest in body modification and adornment she began learning about henna and its traditional significance to the various cultures in which it appears. Through trial and error she began doing henna on friends then doing small local events, holistic fairs and parties. Over 25 years later Maria and her body art business is still going strong, providing beautiful henna art all over New England and beyond. Maria is a published author in issue 11 of Fuse Magazine about henna and its applications in bellydance. Notable past clients include Origins Skincare, Alex and Ani, Boston Magazine, The Boch Automotive Group, and Subaru of New England. Her latest achievements include Maria and her henna booth being cast in the Adam Sandler Halloween movie, "Hubie Halloween", and being featured on the Fox 25 Zip trip to Melrose, MA. Her business was also showcased on the Melrose MA Chamber of Commerce show "Chamber Chat". She is a member of the Melrose Chamber of Commerce, the Malden Chamber of Commerce, and the Massachusetts LGBT Chamber of Commerce as an Ally Member.. Maria loves doing henna and sharing it with everyone!

Artist requires a clean well lit area with enough space that neither the artist nor guests will be jostled or bumped. Choose an area away from DJ’s, bands, and any aggressive activity. A table and 2 chairs should be provided. If Client cannot provide these, Artist will provide them free of charge with advance notice.

For outdoor events, excellent lighting and weather protection are required.
Lighting should be bright enough to read small print comfortably.
Requests for designs or areas of the body that the artist deems inappropriate will be denied. The artist reserves the right to leave if artist feels unsafe or abused in any way.
In addition I am chemically sensitive and I would prefer that my work space be free from any harsh perfumes, scented candles, or plug in air fresheners, etc.
Please note that all clients must follow henna aftercare instructions to achieve optimal henna tattoo results.
